Unfortunately easier said that done. IMO if you have no outside jump-shot at the HS level it's extremely difficult to suddenly improve that aspect of your game at the college level. Much easier to go from a good shooter to a great shooter (e.g Ayo).

I agree, Fran didnt get recruited out of high school. As for TSJ I saw him play in a high powered AAU tournament in Dallas & he was the best player in it. I know Fran too, but if he did say that about TSJ then he had to be wrong.
Fran didn't get recruited out of his nursing home. He just wandered onto an ESPN set. I'll be happy if he isn't assigned to another Illinois game.

It certainly can be done, though. See Head, Luther.

I should clarify: it's harder for stretch-4, power forward types. Eventually a guard is going to have to learn how to shoot from the outside to survive. A player like Morez is going to lean heavier on his inside skills because you can still score that way but at that point the outside shot never develops for the NBA game.

Izzo stayed till the end. Spoke all of the coaches & made sure to speak to James Brown. Brown wasnt in foul trouble this game. He played ok. Morez was impressive. He definately had over 20 points. He hit a three pointer early in the game. Had some dunks. Rita had a big time size advantage. Morez hurt his leg, left for a few minutes then got back out out there.

I agree for the most part but personally I think its easier to develop a jumpshot compared to gaining the amount of athletic ability it takes for the league not to say he's the most athletic guy we ever recruited but it's there already along with the build if he does develops a jump shot sir I think he'll be a star.but I do understand as well it is a if at this point but he's still a high school player atm and does have time to develop still.also ayo jump shot did get better and did progress so by what you there about actually gives me hope he can become a better shooter

He does have a shot,he started developing that during is sophomore year.Like most high schoolers he’s still work in progress.
Yeah, at his size, I don't think being a dead eye shooter is important!

It appears he has some skill level and ability to develop it. I DO definitely think a shot can be developed, especially in big men that are used to being bigger and able to dominate everyone they play inside. It is kind of untapped potential. Look at the Lopez twins (especially Brook) and Channing Frye.....they got to the NBA and finally weren't able to dominate inside, so they developed their untapped potential and skill and are now shooting big men.

I like James Brown, but I don't see how he is ranked higher than Morez.

To me, I still see Morez as fairly raw. But in terms of ceiling, no way he is not a 5 star guy.
Could it be that James Brown was a clear "5 man" early on, and those guys are few and far between, where Morez was more of a 4 and still growing into his body, so he was more a dime a dozen type of guy?

My suspicion is that Morez stayed 4 ⭐️ because he committed early to the beloved and off the market there’ nothing to gain for the rating services to keep hyping him up while Brown is still uncommitted .Watching both guys play is my opinion that Morez is more consistent as a player with higher ceiling ….a real blue collar guy.
