Just made an account after being on here for close to a decade. U of I grad 2002.

I think Morez's pro comp/ceiling potential is Joel Embiid. I see KG a little as other's have noted, but Morez's body is much more built as a HS Junior than KG's was. Based on clips I've seen, styles of play are close with Morez shooting the occasional 3 as Embiid does. Obviously, Embiid is a possible future HOF'er and Morez has yet to play a game beyond HS. As such this is only a comparison of body/game style - not saying that Morez will become Embiid. At least that's the logical version of my take.

If I wanted to go full on orange kool-aid, I'd say Morez is a more-athletic Embiid with a shorter neck so no unused height. Did I do that right??

Welcome! Interesting comparison and reasoning.

You've done well with your inclusion of neck height. Still to go for Loyalty Bingo are growth plates, camera angle, and a few others...but you have started strong!

Lake Norman NC

2025. He's 6' 8" now (wing/SG). We offered quite awhile ago. Chester is the lead.

He's a baller .... and a lefty too!

Pretty impressed by the tweet below. His HS was the large division state champs in NC in 2021 and #2 on the list below went on to score over 3,000 (albeit lower level) D1 points and get a cup of coffee with the Rockets despite being only 5'9"....

How many years has this overtime elite league been running now? Are there any examples of guys transitioning from OE to good college basketball players?

I'm genuinely curious. Seems like a high chance of some flames outs and many college coaches avoiding the league, but maybe I'm just old school.

I think this is a good comp actually, probably the best I’ve seen. If his growth players are still open and we measure him in shoes, we might have a stew going.

I believe this is OE's 3rd year, but the first where graduating seniors will maintain NCAA eligibility.

Welcome and good first post. You will like it here, not nearly the "snarks" that the other sites have and there are a good amount of "insiders". Dan runs a good site and best of all it's free. Go Illini!!

The University of South Florida is in Tampa. Makes no sense at all. There are many hundreds of miles south and to my knowledge, none of those schools use "south" in the name.

The University of North Florida is in Jacksonville, Florida. So the Tampa campus is to identify the various institution locations within the State.

Side notes:

They used to call it 'Southwest Missouri State' until changing the name to 'Missouri State'.

They used to call it 'Southwest Texas State' until changing the name to 'Texas State'.

They used to call it 'Southwest Louisiana U' until changing the name to just 'Louisiana University'.

The University Systems like to have 'Fun with Geography!'

Think about Northwestern University. Where is that, Seattle or Portland? In 1851 when it was established Chicago was considered Far Northwest Territory. Those days are long gone but the 'Northwestern' name endures.

In Illinois we keep things simple: U of Illinois... Northern Illinois U... Southern Illinois U... Western Illinois U... Eastern Illinois U... Illinois State U...
