Is there any reason why moretti can’t be our point guard next year?
From what I've read and heard still needs time to develope both physically and to the level of talent of the college game.but he does have all summer to get fletched up and work on his game im no insider just repeating what I've heard and read.but also must add did hear he has a good work ethic and has the desire to be good so anything is possible.but I think he's a season or 2 away from making it into the regular rotation

My biggest fear is that all of the coaching shenanigans wind up with Miller as our coach (I am fine with that) and thus Kriisa as our PG (I am not fine with that).

Yes, they were the best recruits. That doesn't mean there aren't mistakes in scouting, even in the NFL/NBA there are first round busts. But you still need that first round talent to succeed. My concern is that if this pattern continues of top 50 recruits leaving early under not the best circumstances, then it will make it harder to recruit future top 50 recruits here.
And the Illinois pattern is that we win when we have top 50 recruits who are studs (Frank, Dee, Ayo) and we lose when we don't.
Your 4 guys are fine but there is a ceiling to how good that team will be without a superstar in the mix. In my opinion.

In the alternate universe where Miller stays and doesn't tear the ACL, even if he caps at Rich McBride skill level, that is trade-worthy. Skyy, we will see if he is awesome or terrible at Louisville. Curbelo has skills no one on this team has and something drastic must have happened that I still don't know about to have the guy who'd give BU the big hugs after all the wins want to leave the program.
I’m not trying to split hairs; but it sorta comes down to what your definition of better recruit actually is. Adam, Skyy, and Curbelo were more highly touted for sure. But does that automatically make them better recruits? Not to me.

Amazing talent, yes. But All three of them are more one dimensional than the other guys named. Not to mention, being coachable is a pretty BIG deal.

Along with Fletch, let's get an Italian Nonna over here. 3 large servings of carbs each day will pack on the pounds (as evidenced by my 45 lb gain soph year).

Does anyone have a copy of the Tisdale 7000 calorie per day diet?

And John Wooden was calm and composed and won 10 of them. Truth is a coach's composure can have a very wide range and be successful and there's plenty of history with that. There's no one right way to behave as a coach, you just have to be the right coach for the players you have. I think it's fair to say that this season there were a few players who Underwood was not the right coach for (or they weren't the right players for, however you want to say it). That was readily apparent. I also think it's fair to say that Brad did try his best to attempt to cater to them during the season by clearly taking a step back at times (probably the correct call for the sake of the program, though not necessarily the best for building a tourney team this year).

Overall, rather than saying that Brad needs to retain or change his fiery demeanor, it's far more important in my opinion that the players he brings into the program next year mesh and excel in the style he uses to motivate them better than some of the "paid actors" he had this year. Get good character and team chemistry fits first and foremost and the rest will work its way out. But I agree with your sentiment in that the calls for Brad to coach more calm and composed is more a personal preference thing than a gatekeeper to success thing.
I get what you are saying. What I was really trying to say is there would be more tolerance for Brad’s blow-ups if he had a National Championship or three on his resume’. It might not be fair. Might not be right but that is how the real world works. I personally think it can be a bad look at times but I am not too concerned about it. Just win. More.

Go look up Tatum talking about coach K and how he talked to him/players....
The difference was there were no portal and NIL back then. And guess why Coach K chose retiring last year... Just saying...
