Taran Armstrong looks interesting - big PG who was WAC FoY last year, and 2nd-team WAC this year.

Jonathan Beagle looks interesting - PF with pretty good numbers as a Freshman this year.

55% from 3 this season, though on only 53 attempts. 80.7% FT percentage on 140 attempts.

Looks like a good player. Not a great athlete, but he won't have a problem finding a new home.

Everything I've read says he's pretty much heading to Auburn, but ya never know. With that in mind, I'm wondering if our insiders (@Lville, @Indy, @0440, etc.) have a list of transfer candidates they feel relatively good about. Maybe a top ten of sorts. I wouldn't hold them accountable, of course, but it'd be interesting to see a current list of portal players that the staff is/might be interested in. It could enlighten us on the direction they're planning to go. *shrug*

Rienk Mast entered the portal out of Bradley. 6-9 big that can shoot from outside. Illinois will be very interested.
I’m a BU grad although I watch more UI games. I don’t know if he’s a BIG 10 level player, so this surprises me a bit. He’s not Cameron Krautwig, who may look goofy but can play at any level collegiately. Seems like the perfect big at the MVC level….so interesting to see how that plays out.

Unless Underwood simply wants shooters off the bench, I can't imagine IL is seriously recruiting him. JMHO.

Perusing the main BU message board, looks like he already has his degree, BU doesn’t have an advanced degree that makes sense (undergrad in physics)….so he may be fishing for NIL offers from P6 schools, or head back to the Netherlands to play professionally. He’s had some knee injuries so he may be looking to get paid to play hoops sooner vs later. Sad for my alma matter but it makes sense in this situation.

"I love the way coach Underwood coaches his players."

I hope this is true and I hope Morez fully understands the type of Coach BU is. As I've said before, I'm not a fan of BU's style and don't think its a fit for most. However, if we can find players who are totally aligned with how coach operates then I think that will bode well for player/team development and team chemistry.

I imagine MJ has watched most of the Illini games the past couple of years, and likely talked to a lot of players and ex-players, too.

He knows exactly what type of coach he signed up to play for… 👍
