Only thing that matters to most athletic programs and fans is winning and hunter immediately makes you better and helps you win games. If we are blessed enough to have hunter join our beloved, you don’t hesitate and you don’t look back. As the late Al Davis said, “Just win baby”

I am assuming BU would have a heart to heart about the wisdom or lack thereof surrounding the pre-game ski mask routine?

Would actually find it hilarious if he played for us, beat Michigan (finally win in that matchup) and then have tourney success.

Next recruiting battle between us and ScUM, 'oh yeah, remember the time we took their best player and made him better?'

Downey's post took me down memory lane. I watched Sikma and Gobczynski play several times including against each other when I was a kid. While Gobzcynski was 6-10 and might have been listed as a center, I do not recall him being much of an interior player at all though it was a long time ago. He was a fantastic shot - saw him drop 60 one night. He would have been tough for Lieb to guard. I recall him as an unathletic Larry Bird. It was uncanny how he could catch a pass then turn and shoot before the defender could react. IWU successfully defended him by going for the block immediately when he caught the ball. Seem to recall Sikma blocking him more than once. That IWU team was pretty darn good - there was another guy besides Sikma that I think got a hard look by an NBA team as well.

Also Bruce Hamming and John Laing who played together at Augastana in the early '70's.

First priority should be getting a good PG but if Hunter somehow decided he wanted to come to Illinois I’d be more than fine with it. He’s an All-American and has a big impact on the game at the college level. You don’t say no to that. You take it and run with it, and then you point and laugh at Michigan.
