Missouri State is my alma mater and other favorite team…you’re not wrongBeing a fan of a mid-major team has to be rough these days. Their best players always leave.
It's why I always chuckle at the expressions around here that Illinois is the poor bullied little orphan of college sports when we are a founder member of one of two entities (B1G and SEC) that are swallowing the entire landscape.Being a fan of a mid-major team has to be rough these days. Everybody wants parity down to exactly their level and no further.
That was my point on another thread, the mid majors will be the new HS recruiting for Power 5 schools. Especially if they do well in the tourney.Being a fan of a mid-major team has to be rough these days. Their best players always leave.

So it seems like we might be his best option? I'm guessing he isn't an automatic take quite yet.
If Illinois gets the postseason version of that kid, then a huge yes. Love the athleticism shown on that second dunk and the fact that he is 6'4".
professional basketball without contracts or a salary cap.Honestly, this is just professional basketball at this point. Offer kids a free education (for those that want it) and/or NIL deals and don’t force kids to go to class if they don’t want to pursue the education part. They are then just employees of said university earning an income for providing the university a service. Every program should then hire a GM to manage the recruiting, transfer, and compensation of players. Time to let go of what once was and embrace what is.
