May be correct but the same was true in 1939 as well.
I never thought I'd ever have a chance to actually use this meme, but... here we are.

They would have been a very distant third after Nazi Germany and Great Britain.
Not to get all history nerdy in the recruiting thread, but France was still considered the top if not one of the top 2 militaries in Europe just before WW2. The problem is they got really good and capable at fighting another WW1.

Turns out mobility and mission command (essentially decentralized execution) were the keys to WW2 which is what made Germany’s Ardennes offensive so successful.

Russia and GB had the luxury of not being immediately conquerable (vastness/winter and the English Channel respectively) which gave them time to get their industrial machines churning.

Back to recruiting:

I went back and looked at the forum’s comments about AJ Storr when he decommitted. And, honestly, there was a lot of “he’s gonna be good where he ends up” and not a lot of “oh he sucks” with a moderate amount of “I wouldn’t take him over Epps and Harris”.

Overall I think we did really good as a forum not completely writing him off and knowing he’d be good! Maybe we can get him on the rebound! 😁

Sorry to @Heisenbobble and I’ll stop after this, but I literally just watched a documentary on this a couple weeks ago. The Germans won (early) with speed and shock, but in pure numbers had far less men and material than is commonly thought. Was a surprise to me too.

I-L-L and may the portal bless us all.

They like where they stand, yes. Like I have said the last couple of days this is the first of 4-5 transfers, and it's a very good start. He won't be the biggest name, but really solid player
With how our roster looks. I am all for a “good start”. And I like pulling great mid major players up to fill roles. They usually have less large egos.

soooo do we think the guy from siu is pretty much a done deal?
I'd think so too but he does have Wisconsin and Clemson on his list which could be intriguing, especially since he is from Wisconsin. RJ leaving left an opportunity to compete for a starting spot on a quality team so I bet we close him soon.

yeah he looks a good addition- since he's visiting for two days was hoping he'll just go ahead and commit
