I don’t see AJ being option A or B in the portal. Moms a little 🦇 💩
Oops. Shoot. I knew his mom was AJ’s “driving force” behind his decisions, but I didn’t realize she was THAT domineering. Sorry to hear it. The Illini do NOT need any more parent drama whatsoever in the culture they’re trying to establish/reestablish. On to the next…

Recruiting players after they had committed elsewhere wasn’t as common then. It’s pretty much the Wild West now.
Especially when contrasted to Weber's recruiting practices.

Not sure why this edgelord nugget doofus is choosing to make this particular argument at this late juncture in this particular forum, but I now hope he or she poops their pants, too.

I'm still recovering. How is a maniac like that allowed to work at all, not to mention working with impressionable boys from sometimes unstable homes? It's a good thing Brad Underwood doesn't have a trail of bodies behind him on his way to Illinois. It'd be hard to support someone who's done anything remotely close to what KS did.
Just to recap:
- you’re fully aware of why many Illini fans hold a grudge against Sampson
- you then ask “why would you call him a scumbag” and imply that it’s because Houston beat us in the tourney, implying you did not know the history
- you did all this, why? So that someone could spell out his recruiting violations, just so you could get all sarcastic about how it isn’t that big a deal

What is the point? It’s fun to hate on guys like Pearl and Sampson who did shady things that hurt Illini basketball. Why did you go out of your way to chastise people and get all snarky about it?

Anyway. Happy Easter.

He covertly recruited a top prospect who was publicly committed to another Big Ten school. Had him wait until midnight madness to flip.

There were also the recruiting violations. Also the marginal kids he brought in and the off court issues.

Can you provide a couple quotes?

I’m glad those days are in rear view mirror. I felt the Gordon recruitment was the 1st domino falling to lead to Webers departure. As low down as Sampson was, Weber needed to move on. He went all in on Richmond and didn’t cut ties with Jereme when he went off the rails( probably because he desperately needed a recruiting win). He just didn’t respond well to the setback.

Yeah coach shouldn’t yell and hurt these kids feelings. Izzo, Calipari, keady, knight,Dean Smith, Al Maguire, and millions of other coaches should never do that!!!! Oh and my mom and dad shouldn’t have either.

Not likely your Mom and Dad would hurt your feelings and threaten yours elf esteem in close up shots in front of 1.5 million to 3.5 million baskettball fans.
Take it behind closed doors.

was hoping for/expecting a Domask commit following the visit. Unreasonable or unrealistic?

Bruce should have cut ties with Gordon too, once it was obvious the Gordons and Sampson were punking him.
