Shawn Phillips ... Lot of teams are interested ... Memphis, Illinois, ASU, Michigan, Dayton, St. John's, K State ... Still a little early on him ...

Efton Reid ... I have heard VCU ... Va Tech is interested ...

Kaden Shedrick ... I have heard Mizzou or Xavier ... Would be such a perfect fit with Sean at Xavier ... Literally is Jack Nunge 2.0 ...

Ugonna Onyenso ... He's going back to UK ...

Yohan Traore ... Oklahoma appears to be the leader ... He's buddies with Uzan ...

Jackson Grant ... Just gonna be honest ... Have absolutely no idea ... He's a mid major guy ...

I’m hoping we can get some footing in the Phillips recruitment. I know he didn’t play a lot for a bad LSU team, but they had a big man McMahon brought along with him from Murray St. that played 33 min a game.
A 7’ kid with decent athleticism, 3 years of eligibility, & a frame begging to be fletched?
Yes, please.

I talked with KT Turner ... He just got the job at UT Arlington and hired Jeremy Pope as one of his assistants ... Glenn is very familiar with him ... They may have a shot as well potentially with that connection ...

Thanks for the info. Bit surprised to see Miss St. Scuttle butt on Beavers forum was that Davis was part of the toxic chemistry problems two years ago that help lead to a 3 win season. Guess that wasn’t the case or maybe he and Taylor were on the “same side.”

RE Tinkle, believe me plenty of fans wonder how he is still there. Never underestimate the power of an E8 run on a fan base that hasn’t had much to cheer about for a long time. That and a somewhat sizable (for Oregon St at least) buyout seem to be the culprit. Thankfully I believe the buyout decreases a fair amount after next year.

For the insiders: Is it safe to assume we will have the most impressive/impactful portal haul when it’s all said and done? Or is UM/IU the ones that will end up with the biggest roster change and impact? Obviously we will add a PG, I’m just curious if the staff would be okay with one and hope everybody comes back and TJ/CH headline the squad.

I preface this with the fact that I live in LA, watch the Bruins a lot and my daughter is friends with one of their players.

I don’t agree that UCLA is a “mess.” Cronin’s been to a Final Four and Sweet 16 three years in a row, brings in great talent, puts guys in the NBA, has the team playing the right way, and they should benefit from increased visibility that move to B1G will bring.

Cronin is very similar to Underwood in that if you don’t play hard on defense, you won’t get tick. He also is going to favor all-league upperclassmen over freshmen. Duh. Watson was out of shape, terrible on offense and pretty much unplayable on a team with five returning starters from a Final Four squad. Bailey played plenty the second half of this year once he caught up to the speed of the college game.

But yeah, UCLA needs to step up their NIL game. I think that’s more on the AD than the football and basketball coaches.

I don't think I said they laugh at them and I don't think they are trying to be disrespectful. But when it happens it always kind of triggers my thought that people don't realize how good these kids actually are. That's my lonely point. Not trying to chastise the fans in any way.

I appreciate that my friend … Just try to share the info I’m privileged to get … No reason for me to charge anything … I’ve been approached many times about joining a subscription based site … and there’s a reason why I never will …

I’m sure there are quite a few guys on here who share this info with their young kids or even some younger guys/girls on here who love the Illini and recruiting in general that just don’t have the $$ to pay for a subscription …

Also a quick story I got from someone on here and I won’t out who they are but they shared this with me not that long ago … They said that they along with their father have been illini fans their entire life but didn’t always see eye to eye … Hadn’t spoken in years … Well their fathers health was declining and they decided to try and make peace … And every week this person would go in to see their father and talk to them about the things that were talked about on here from me and many others … Players we might add, who we were recruiting, etc. … If I had dropped a “boom” gif recently … I mean it’s stories like those that make me really appreciate this place we’ve got … Theres always going to be negativity in life but never forget the impact you can have on people you don’t even know … :shield:

I give this a 0% chance of happening. Not trying to be malicious but realistic. I understand we have the funds but I would be suprised and thrilled to go 2 for 4 here.
