Reading Lville late post from the previous recruiting thread is good news.....would hope BU and staff gets all the pieces to the puzzle together soon...gets all the pieces on campus together and starts the team building (chemistry) concept, so that by November everyone is on board and on the same page.

Read where TSJs workout this week is with a team in the 30s and has high interest in him. Hope our NIL is a higher guarantee than that team is willing to offer. Selfishly, I want all 3 we are waiting on, but, if CH and TSJ stay in, I wish them well and hope they make us proud.

The trip to Spain should be the bonding experience we need to bring it all together way earlier than last year.

I'll be surprised if that team is willing guarantee that they'll pick Shannon, but it's possible (albeit unlikely).

Agreed, even if someone loves him and wants to pick him, all it takes is someone else passing on a player that team might like a little better than TSJ, and he gets passed over.

exactly. no GM worth his salt is going to guarantee that he'll pick a kid in the 2nd round, 'cause frequently higher ranked kids drop (e.g. Ayo, hockey DeBrincat)

TSJ has already communicated to the staff he’s returning. Announcement should be soon.

That’s not totally true unless you’re still in 2003… players in the top 40 (top 5-10 picks of second round) typically do get guaranteed contracts. Ayo was a second rounder and got guaranteed 2y/$4M. Teams do have 3 two way spots not which is a new rule so maybe that will limit how much guaranteed money they give to second round draft picks — that part remains to be seen. But there is typically some guaranteed money in the second round.

So by your own admission, 2nd round picks are not guaranteed any particular money like first round picks where there is a guaranteed two year contract (need for a good agent and bargaining is key for 2nd rounders and undrafted players). With the way NIL works in today's era, if you are not projected to be a guaranteed first rounder, it might be best to go back to college and take a higher guaranteed one-year NIL.

Of course there is the NBA rookie minimum for any 2nd rounder or undrafted rookie who is able to stick around in the league, but that minimum is much lower than some are likely to get in guaranteed NIL monies.
