I wouldn't care where if he shoots them from or how many if he shoots 40 percent or better! To be fair he shot 40% on 6 attempts per game so not really a chucker

Where’s there’s smoke there’s usually fire. The point is the outside insiders are less confident in Illini landing either than the Illini insiders are. Much like the RayJ situation.your assumption is that these guys know what the deal is. pretty big assumption, IMO
Nope. Not ridiculous at all. Very justified.Mulcahy in a Michigan jersey would be ridiculously hated in the B1G
Well I wish they would have made a push towards Paul. However, TA knows Williams and others here very well. BU knows what he has too. Williams likely being here three years after transfering will be a plus as he gets better. One thing Reeves can do is shoot and I would love that too. It could really spread the floor. I just hope we can land Reeves if we pass on Paul.
On one hand, I think Ty at PG gets our best five on the floor, which is great.Regarding Paul….the staff wants a shooter. And they are really happy with what they have seen from Ty running PG for stretches of the game. Also they don’t think Paul is going to go anywhere inside the conference. Was hard for him to leave Rutgers. He loves that place and Steve.
I think he'll actually be a redshirt junior this coming season. Iirc, he took a medical redshirt as a freshman. Then played three games his second year before transferring. He would be a 5th year redshirt senior the following season. Not sure, he might even potentially have a super senior season beyond that?I have high hopes for the dancing bear, but the legend of Dain as this perpetual freshman is overdone. He’s from the same class as Hawkins. He’s going to be a senior this year, and a grad student if he stays/transfers next year.
Did people refer to Podz last year as “basically a freshman”, “actually his first year”, etc? For some reason this board treats Dain different than all other players in that regard.
What stretches of what games?? Rodgers is a high energy and effort guy. If they want a shooter then he is the last guy you want on the floor for extended minutes and he has never really played PG in his life.Regarding Paul….the staff wants a shooter. I would love to disagree with you,,,, but I can't.This has disaster written all over it....
My wife grew up in Robinson, also.Grew up in Robinson many moons ago. Know that gym well. Didn't play basketball, but had plenty of gym classes there.

I remember watching Sergio before Frankie got here playing point who was actually a much better version of Rodgers.
It was still less than ideal.
Why are we hell bent on recruiting over Domask and Goode who are both considered good shooters?
As Thornridge alum, I hate that jersey.
To also be fair , I can not understand the offense being run at UK.............Even with Oscar T. the last couple of years it seemed more confusion than distribution as a whole.........I do remember Reeves shot some 3 pointers on the fast break transition game last yearTo be fair he shot 40% on 6 attempts per game so not really a chucker
I don't think adding Reeves is recruiting over them much.. You can never have enough shooters. Maybe Domask or Goode could play the 2 but I expect them to battle Quincy at the 3/4 or back up the 3/4 spot Hawk should plays 30 plus between the4/5 . TSJ plays 30 plus at the 3/2. I see Reeves playing the 2 or a little 1.What stretches of what games?? Rodgers is a high energy and effort guy. Mhm or mulcahey just wasn’t gonna transfer to a conference rival after leaving his home state so they are moving to ReavesDiscussions were had, they prefer Reeves. Will make a huge push for him, and the Chicago ties will help
Agree with this. Reeves can score it but doesn’t fill the biggest need. After march all we heard Brad talk about was how we need PG play and have to run offense. That PG in my opinion needs to be a threat to score from outside 10ft as well. Think this is a huge mistake and also think this staff doesn’t just get the “benefit of the doubt” anymore after last season and this offseason. Hope I’m wrong but they’ll need to prove me wrong to gain my benefit of the doubt trust backImo I'm not the biggest fan of not going for Paul. They are really rolling the dice with that-They feel Ty, DGL, Sincere, TSJ, etc can play pg by committee. The passing should be improved with some of the guys we brought in, but it's all about if the pg play can be decent enough. That will be the difference this year between being just in the top 25 or a top 10-15 team in the country.
They really like Reeves, but it won't be easy to land him. Think we have a pretty decent shot though
Very unfortunate the Illini have a game at Rutgers this year, might have made a difference....They did kick the tires. It was not as well received as they originally thought it would be. Don't think he's staying in conference
I think they really wanted RayJ. I have not heard or read any sour grapes regarding him.Try to recruit someone, they aren't interested, then tell people to report that you didn't really want them.
Isn't that the way it's been going for a while now?
GMAB. People here have Rodgers as a lottery pick if he can learn to shoot. He is a 7/8 guy on a good team at best right now.Sergio, at PG, was not "a much better version of Rodgers"
