We missed on a transfer that by all accounts was pretty much a lock, while waiting around for him to visit 2-3 competing programs for 2-3 weeks as other point guard transfers committed elsewhere. Just reading through this thread we have learned the alternative potential transfer starting PG may be involved in an illegal gambling investigation, further complicating his already tenuous eligibility for the coming season. He is also coming off probably the most serious basketball injury that ended his last season. We have dozens of posts (mostly advocating) debating starting a second year player who to my knowledge has no real experience playing point at any time in his playing career, and last year was one of our best players under the basket. Given that the point guard position is demonstrably the most important position for a team's post season potential, as well as our struggles with the position last season, it continues to become a larger issue than it already was, IMO.
Conspiracy theory time (or maybe just misguided hope) :
Illinois had Mulcahy lined up before he hit the portal. Illinois knowing what they did and everybody knowing how desperate they are after RayJ + that he's coming from a conference foe, start leaking to our insiders that we have no interest and are ready to roll with Ty Rodgers. Smoke and mirrors and then poof he commits to Illinois.
Beat me to it....thats what I get for not reading the entire thread before posting...lol

If we are really last on that list, then look at because very few of those guys are very good.
Maybe, but not sure I trust Sleepers to know the rules either... don't see why he can't enter the portal which puts him off KY roster, graduate form ISU without ever being on their roster & then do the grad transfer to where ever... but honestly Reeves is barely on my radar, bonus if we get him, but would rather listen to everyone gnash their teeth over PGAntonio Reeves is taking summer classes at Illinois State in hopes of graduating. He then planned to enter the grad transfer portal.
He probably should have read the rules. He can't be a graduate transfer from ISU while he is on UK's roster. And he can't be a grad transfer from UK if he graduates from a different school, in this case, ISU. And he can't transfer back to ISU to graduate.
Maybe, by saying our PG issue becoming bigger and bigger, he meant…Bigger and bigger? please explain.
Here is a pre season big ten ranking and discussion on big ten from sparty peeps. Pretty extensive write up on the illini and hit most of the points discussed here.

As I read this I aspirated a piece of my roast beef sandwich..... After struggling for a bit, I'm now breathing normally and able to send out my appreciation for the humorNebraska is going to give him the best chance to prepare for the combine
Because they're the Cornhuskers
I'm aware this one was bad...
They've worked themselves into a panic over a lot less than a gif.Wait is Williams actually being indicated in gambling incident, or is that just being inferred by the casino chip gif that also could have been a reference to the coaches placing their chips on various transfers?
I mean I doubt loyalty would work itself into a self induced panic spiral based on a gif, but seems like anything is possible these days. What a time to be alive!
A lot of things have been said on this board. Much of it ends up being false. It's been said that Mulcahey wants hardware, and Nebraska isn't even gonna come close to winning anything next year. He's not going to Nebraska.
Possibly…Yeah, the elephant in the room is that Ty without a 3pt shot would probably pack the paint and be a disaster for spacing.
There's almost nowhere to go but up. A full year of Goode and adding Domask should certainly help also. Hansberry can reputedly stroke it from deep as well. Plus if TJS can bounce back to his averages from soph and junior year we should be just fine.Yeah, the elephant in the room is that Ty without a 3pt shot would probably pack the paint and be a disaster for spacing. Kinda sad to see an early ranking of 6th in the conference, but I can follow his thinking. Biggest question is PG, but also 3 pt shooting from last year was awful, and you wonder how much that will change.

I mean you can literally Google Iowa court cases and search names via the Iowa courts online search.
It's all public information.
Outside shooting: As long as we’re being optimistic (and why not?), Quincy can knock them down - and I’m expecting to see higher percentages on lower volume from TJ & Coleman. There's almost nowhere to go but up. There's this kid, Jeremiah Fears, you should def keep an EyeoftheIllini onHey Insders — with the contact window open for 2025s, any info on who staff will likely target and/or what recruits might like Illinois? Seeing a forest of tweets about contact and wondering if there are a few trees we should keep an eye on.
You noticed that they didn't have a name or face on our PG, right? Who are you comparing to the rest of the conference? We literally have no player, on the roster, that has exhibited legitimate PG skills on both ends of the floor. None. It's a big problem and going into the season using a PG by committee isn't a good thing. If we are really last on that list, then look at because very few of those guys are very good.
My biggest fear is last 5 minutes of the game when you really need to be crisp with your passes and ball handling. That's where a true pg can be extremely valuable.Possibly…
But if we can get the offense in constant motion, driving in and kicking it out—capable shooters flashing at the three line—defenses won’t be able to pack the lane.
Imagine if we have a team this year that actually runs plays - what a concept!
