I was one of the first posters who "objected" to the constant bikini posts, and while I do find the discursion that has since occurred personally interesting (message boards are meant for discussion at the end of the day, right?), I do feel sorry for those who come here simply for the basketball recruiting for the devolvement of the thread.
While I do wish a site like this would be one of the corners of the internet where women could find solace in not being sexualized, that's clearly not the case, and I don't think any opinion I or others share will change that, so I won't try. And to make my stance clear, I'm not in support of any censorship of the site, I enjoy the free discussion of the forum, but under that freedom of the forum I feel fully empowered to share my own opinion on the matter. I think it should also be noted that stating what people should or shouldn't post is not necessarily being supportive of censorship, it's just sharing your !!!!ing opinion, hence the
SHOULD.
As a couple posters said before me, I generally liked most of Pru's posts, and still find many to be funny to this day, I found it incredibly creepy and weird a few weeks back when Pru went on his boat arc. For those who don't remember, Pru seemed to be claiming that him and "one of his best buddys" split a boat and that's where he was meeting these NLs. It would seem like everyday there'd be a new NL or supposed NL, he even numbered many of them. While I think the fantasy is strange to share to a basketball message board in general, it's gross and weird to pull pictures of random girls from the internet and insinuate that you have a sexual relationship with them, regardless of how public those photos are.
If you don't think so, imagine if one of the pictures Pru pulled from the internet was of your daughter, the newest NL to hop on the boat. And if you somehow are stupid enough to think any of this is actually going on, at least to the extent Pru claims it is most certainly not, as he's used pictures of !!!!ing Christina Milian. Another photo he's used a couple times was doctored hilariously bad to enlarge the girl's chest. I'd hope the count of people that seriously thought that was real is 0, but I do remember people replying to the posts in a manner like "aw man Pru you're really living the life". I still can't fathom anyone actually believing that was real, but I find myself unfortunately overestimating humanity as a whole often.
My point is this: It's strange to peddle a fantasy where you sexualize random women from the internet and claim they're your personal escorts, but if you do that on your own time, power to you. In my view, it's sickening and weird to bring that fantasy to a public community where you expect and receive engagement from the post. I will absolutely NOT be supporting this old man's fantasy, and I think those who do are also engaging in strange behavior. This all being said, since the backlash began, the boat arc seems to have come to a close. To quote another poster "give em an inch, they take a mile" and in my opinion Pru was taking that mile, and the backlash shut that down.
