I think he's trying to build enthusiasm (and NIL prospects). I suppose as a 17 year old he's a better ball player than marketer. But he got his principal point out.
seems we have a legit shot. Jeremiah is friends with Phoenix Gill and older brother wasn't thrilled that everyone returned at MSU when he was led to believe there would be more potential for immediate playing time.
My concern with Fears is, he could simply go to the highest bidder, and not sure we'd be the highest bidder for a potential 5 star kid that has a lot of suitors.

I'm not criticizing you (you're relaying what you heard), and I know I'm being naive/childish/unrealistic, but when I read stories like that I think I may be done caring about college sports.

Like i said, I'm naive, irrational, whatever, but I find it really distasteful. None of this has anything to do with (what I would have thought is the) mission of a university. Oh well, life goes on.
