Just look at Jeremy Fears. He wanted a starting guarantee. Now granted, I was concerned with his lack of shooting ability, but he played well enough to make the McDs AA team, so clearly he is doing something right. The kick in the teeth is, we wouldn't guarantee him a starting position, didn't get him, missed or passed on all other PGs, and now we'd be thrilled if Fears was our starting PG, not to mention it certainly wouldn't hurt trying to land his very talented younger brother.

Thrilled wouldn’t be the word I’d use … But it would be equal to or slightly better than what we’ve got now …

As for landing his little brother … I wouldn’t be surprised if Jeremy wound up in the portal after the year … They’ve talked many times about playing together …

Got told this afternoon that Rutgers is one to watch with McKenney …

Could team up with Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper and form quite the team … McKenney is a potential re class …

If he stays 2025 … Then I think it’s pretty open …

I think Pikiell has done an amazing job getting Rutgers turned around but I do not understand how he is all of the sudden recruiting at this level, especially in the NIL era.

He's never had a player drafted in the NBA. He's never won more than 20 games at Rutgers and his best finish in the Big Ten is a tie for 4th. One NCAA tournament win and he's coming off a first round loss in the NIT. It also doesn't seem like that it's all that fun of a system to play in. Plus he's had high profile players like Cam Spencer, Myles Johnson and Mulcahy transfer out.

Again, incredible achievements for Rutgers. But how is he in the hunt for these high profile kids @Indy Illini Fan? Did he just strike gold getting Ron Harper Jr which got him the in on his more talented brother and his friends?

Indy, you made a comment the other day that said Illinois does not have the resources to go after the high 5 stars, but how does Rutgers?

Nah...kid's just taking his visits & enjoying the process. As of right now, Top 3 are MSU, IU & UM. If I had to bet right now, I'd put money on Michigan.

I would bet with Dylan at least it isn't a standard case as Dylan has a wealthy family, Rutgers family history, and will get paid eventually big time. Doesn't need to chase the money as much, some kids and families do.

So you’re telling me that a 5 star kid, that could choose to take an official visit to any school in the country, is choosing to go to Piscataway, New Jersey, to enjoy the process? Idk man.

That makes no sense in context.

Indy had mentioned Adidas money in the past. What made no sense to me is, why would Adidas choose Rutgers of all the schools they sponsor. They really don't sponsor many, so maybe this is their way of strengthening all their schools. Remember a lot of the illegal payments in the past came from shoe companies, now it's just legal.

The biggest notoriety Adidas schools are Kansas, Indiana, Miami, Louisville, Texas A$M, NC State, GT, Nebraska, Rutgers, Arizona State, Mississippi State. That's about it.

I mean sure but even with adidas money, it's not unlimited money glitch. Gotta keep some in the bank in case these guys think about leaving for more $

The new NIL and transfer portal era in college basketball is pretty much unrestricted free agency with very few rules or guidelines....I'm not opposed to players receiving payment or being allowed to transfer, but there has to be more guidelines put into place...otherwise this will ruin college basketball as we know it...jmo

Maybe for similar reasons that the B1G chose Rutgers... The NY television market likely being high on the list.
