There were rumors at the time he was interested in the Texas job. That shouldn't be too surprising as that's probably a top 10 job and he has regional connections to that area.
I think I mentioned being a blue blood as being a differentiating factor. If you have half a dozen or more National Championship banners in your facility, it certainly helps...
Our recruiting classes have consistently been rated higher than KSU's over the last few years. Their best two players last year were transfers. (one of them a short guy from a mid-major, who BU would have initially been eviscerated on this board for pursuing.... "You're telling me a 5'8" 160 lb guy who averaged 14 pts & 6 Assists in the Sun Belt is going to make a difference?")

I wish Brad was that successful. He appears to be better than Weber and Groce. Self is hall of fame level. Based on last 2 seasons I don't think Brad is on anybody's list for blue bloods - KY, Duke, Kansas, UCLA .

kid has game and a pretty awesome physique for high schooler. will not be locked into playing PF at the next level.
I'm assuming that means you think he's skilled enough he can play the 3?
I like a lot of the recruits and I think Hansberry and Morez will be great but I would like to see him get a 7 footer or something close. It's just nice for a defense to have some rim protection, though you could always add that in the portal.

yes, absolutely. Moseley already has a fantastic mid-range game. his form is good. no reason to think he's not going to be able to expand his range (similar to Hansberry).

Kruger took Florida to the Final Four but lost to Duke in the semifinals.
Brad is one year removed from a Big Ten reg season title and two years from a Big Ten Tourney (and reg season title let's be honest) and #1 seed. I give him the benefit of the doubt for a few more years to take us farther in the NCAA Tourney. Winning the Big Ten is an impressive accomplishment and no joke. He also churned out two All-Americans, one who wasn't that acclaimed coming in.
This is not a Weber situation (yet). He was nicknamed Bubble Bruce for a reason.

Quality 7 footers aren't easy to land, whether out of H.S. or the Portal. I agree that it would be nice to add another big, but I'd be happy to get one in the 6'9 or 6'10 range. This is college basketball. Not many teams, even Natl Champion teams, have a quality 7 footer.
According to 247's college basketball transfer data, there were 22 total transfers at the high-major level of players 7 feet or taller.
If you lower the threshold to 6'11" there were 37 total transfers at the high-major level of that height or taller.
They're out there, if we want them. Dainja has that 7'7" wingspan which makes up for a ton, doesn't matter much he's listed at 6'9" tall.

I agree. Never understood on judging a coach on what amounts to be around 5-10% of the season. Sure we all want to see some tournament success, but single elimination tournaments are always going to be a little random. We hired Groce because he made a Sweet 16 with Ohio and look how that worked out for us. I don't see how anyone could have too many qualms about how Brad has ran this program.
