Anyone looks short when standing around a bunch of people who are largely between 6'6" and 6'10".

Over an hour and no old timers have recited the list of letter winners from Marion/Williamson County.

Disappointing.
Joking aside, it’s been awhile since we had some legit talent from true Southern Illinois. I don’t even count Meyers since Robinson is a clip north of the STL line. Having lived down in Mt. Vernon many years ago, I have wondered when the next star would come out of those parts that would dawn the beloved uniform. STL area aside, have I missed someone since Bardo?

Tom Michael and TJ Wheeler, obviously at a different level than Bardo, but contributors.

I can't think of any... And for the forseeable future I don't see much d-1 major talent coming up at the varsity level down here... Plus the fact you can't even hear the illini on the broadcast radio here. (south of olney at least) But I can pick up the Hoosiers on 4-5 stations and the ky wild scats on 10 stations... puke

Absolutely no good excuse to not get Gill.

I know people play up legacy adds, but winning battles when you have a recruiter that lives with the kid is a must.

what if he's not good enough? if staff decides a kid is probably going to have a tough time getting tick, the smart move is to pass. all the more so, when it's the son of an Illini great.

I have no idea if Gill passes the "good enough" bar. I certainly hope so. But there's a huge difference between being a prep stud and breaking into a top BIG team's rotation.

It would be a helluva lot easier to get a read on Gill if he played for a good AAU squad. Totally get why pops is reticent.

Bottom line: let's not pretend that there aren't any iceberg scenarios here

Honestly haven’t tried to keep up on all the threads the last few weeks. Were there any transfer pg’s after the overseas trips that came available? Anyone we looked at?
