Agreed, way more funGiven the choice, I would trade places with Kentucky over Purdue a zillion times out of a zillion.

Agreed. If anything perception is probably skewed just because the recruiting landscape is a lot different. Enhanced focus on the portal means fewer HS rides in a class; which means fewer HS targets and names discussed overall.Morez is probably a 5 star. Hansberry a definite 4 star. Skyy and Epps 4 stars even if they didn't pan out. Rodgers and Harris definite 4 stars. Dain, TSJ, and Mayer all 4 star transfers. Quincy was a 4 star out of high school as well. We have a great shot at landing Fears and or Mikey Lewis - both 4 stars. Not sure how you see recruiting dropping off.
I think Fears set his commitment for Jan 2024.
My money would be on Gill
It's literally never worked for Illinois and always resulted with us being a "bubble team".Seems to work for Purdonāt. Key is talent identification and development. All stars and no chemistry makes Jack a dull boy to watch. See Kentucky.
Our last three commitments - DGL, Moretti and Jatskys, are all outside of the top 100. Again, hopefully this is an exception and not the norm. Also not saying these kids can't be wonderful basketball players.Morez is probably a 5 star. Hansberry a definite 4 star. Skyy and Epps 4 stars even if they didn't pan out. This guys name reminds me of some Frankensteinian merge of Alex Austin and Mark Alstork and for some reason it bothers the heck out of me.

Great smile, too.Intriguing player. Toolsy and pretty athletic for his size. Lotta upside, IMO.
yup, he's got high upside. Also hs recruiting should pick up here soon
JJ is ranked #111.
Should be a fun upcoming weekend as well
How do you recruit the last three guys on the bench except to get a developmental kid? That's exactly what they are. We just hope with the portal, that they stick around long enough to help us and our development does end up helping some one else. Our last three commitments - DGL, Moretti and Jatskys, are all outside of the top 100. The kid looks good. Since heās a lefty you know that adds another star for him in Underwoodās book.Butler can stroke it. But wait, there's more:

This is the one i want!
This is a sign that Illinois and BU finally getting respect. We finally have a recruit move up in rankings once he signs with Illinois.
