I'll just add that Dee Brown and his wife attended a charitable event pro bono last weekend where he helped a charity raise $250K+ for victims of domestic violence. Was very fun hanging out with them even if it meant missing the end of the Maryland football game.

I wanted to point out that he does good in the community of his own volition without publicizing it in the present to counteract negative posts above about things that happened nearly 10 years ago.
I’ll plead the fifth but yes Dee does do a lot of work for the community.

Dee was in my class (shout out '06). VERY social dude. Always out in public, always smiling. Said hello to everybody - magnetic personality. Also a legit 6'0", despite the common and falsely perpetuated narrative, lol.
'06 as well here. I fondly remember walking back from class one day and seeing none other than Dee Brown walking in my direction with a girl under each arm. I didn't want to bother him so I smiled and gave him a head nod. He lit up with the biggest smile in the universe and came over saying sup asking how I was doin like a close friend would. Was just a genuinely happy guy having the time of his life. Basically the exact opposite of when I ran into Nick Chainsaw Smith at Legends, lol...

Anyways, good memories. About Dee being 6' though, I don't know man, haha, I really don't. I'm 6'0" on the nose and I could swear I had an inch or two on him, lol.

Can’t let this stand!! I have to work with an insufferable IU grad. Can’t let her have all this good news to gloat over…..Need to keep pace…LOL

For all of IU fans' talk about glory and tradition, they have a lower all-time winning percentage than Illinois or Purdue, fewer Big 10 championships than Purdue, have never won a B10 tournament championship in the 25 years it has been played (and reached the title game only once, over 20 years ago), and have fewer Final 4 appearances than Michigan St. or Ohio St.

Much like UConn more recently, the Hoosiers of the past wildly outperformed in terms of winning titles in years that they reach the Final 4 (5 of 8), but all of that happened more than 35 years ago...

Dee couldn’t keep it in his pants. On more than one occasion.
Lol, I was out at the blind pig with some friends and Dee Brown sent a guy over to our table to tell the girls we were with that Dee Brown wanted to talk to them.

They kind of laughed and ignored it but it definitely seemed like Dee was trying the shotgun approach to picking up women. This was during his time working for the athletic department.

I talk to Dee a lot and golf with him occasionally but yes that definitely sounds like something he would do lol

Awesome post doc...Any research that shows a distant blurred light on the candy pantsed Loosiers is A-OK with me...
My dislike for anything related to the Loosiers is legendary and excessive...
Carry on my wayward bro....

Keeping it in the more recent the Hoosiers have pulled away in the last decade or so and now have 35 more all time wins when it appeared for a time there that the Illini could surpass them. No such luck.

Just stating a fact, apropos of nothing mentioned prior in this thread or post: People in positions of authority (coach, teacher, manager, etc) absolutely cannot (per circumstantial state law and/or particular code of conduct) pursue relationships (take that in any sense you want) with persons over whom they have perceived influence with regards to grades, playing time, professional advancement, et al.

I'll add this to the social element. Even as a senior, he was hanging out on my freshman dorm floor in TVD talking to the incoming girls. He made sure we all knew who he was and why it was a big deal.

I'm guessing that element of his pick up game didn't change much over the years, which is a problem if you're on staff

There's this guy named Mark Cuban.....
I suspect Cuban donate some money to their NIL fund but I am not sure. If I had his money I would too

The NBA should have rules that prohibit those donations. If an owner paid a player a couple million in college and then became pro and when then became a free agent Cuban could talk to the player and say remember when I took care of you in college. If you are in the NFL/NBA you should be able to donate to your school but not directly to a player seems too easy for future tampering.

Wow! The unsubstantiated somewhat substantiated.
Most of these stories, as interesting as they are, concern his days as a student. But what was the specific incident that got him booted? I suppose no one can say because anything said might be divulging sensitive information or at least some clues as to who was involved. I am guessing he had an affair with a married woman, the wife of someone who has or had some importance in the program.

Oh, and it is not really any of my business but since it has been brought up…
