I think our only comp at this point will be Providence
Wow just looking at his list I would of figured Kansas being our top competition. Is it a nil or personal connection that makes it us vs providence or who is recruiting him the hardest?

Where else would he go? When is Self leaving? When is Izzo retiring? Calipari?

Oats spent over a decade as a high school coach in Michigan, 24 miles from Ann Arbor. He's from Wisconsin. Seems Michigan might be near the top of his list outside of the Blue Bloods.
I started to think and my guess would be Kentucky or maybe UNC if they aren't happy with Hubert (looks like they have recovered). I guess my point would I don't see Michigan as that much of a big improvement on his situation now. He could wait for primetime NCAA gig, go to NBA, or stay put at bama

Plus Michigan has had their issues in the portal seems like a reason not to go.

Michigan has a very good name in college athletics, Oats has a very good name in college basketball. Michigan has a ton of money.

The school doesn't win alone, you need a coach. Under Beilein Michigan consistently strong. Oats presumably believes he can be equally as good or better. Plus if a better job opens up in a year or two, you just leave.

Other than maybe playing with his brother, Can anyone put forward a cogent theory why Jeremiah would put the dumpster fire scUM in his final five

First of all his brother plays for Michigan State and Izzo... Second most players like Howard... He has recruited talent problem is he can't coach. No chance he is going there from everything I have heard and read

Yeah - I hit post just as I realized his bro is at the other Michigan school. Good news if it’s true he’s not that interested. Beating out Coward not as tall a task as beating out Self at KU

I for one believe you.... Only because I want to!
I'll earn that cred shortly...by Fall 2025 Jeremiah will be an absolute monster. He's already the leading scorer on a Top10 national prep high school, but his game is improving rapidly and more importantly his strength/athleticism are really starting to show. Can easily dunk and almost windmill at this point at 6'3" and I don't think he's done growing. What has always impressed me about his game is that he's right handed but you really wouldn't know it. Equally dangerous from either side of the basket and impossible to guard in transition. In another 1.5 years?? OMG

Are you saying he's amphibious?
Yes, please!
