I guess that raises an interesting question for insiders. @Indy Illini Fan, @illini0440, @LvilleILL, @sharpshot16, what's behind the decrease in recruiting drama? Better targeting of drama-free kids? NIL? Fewer leaks from the staff about kids who are targets but not likely to commit? Winning cures all?
I’d say one thing (including winning) is that the staff has had a lot of major recruiting wins. Kofi, Ayo, TSG, Fields not to mention a long list of bringing in extremely good players like Domask, Guerrier, Rodgers, Harmon, Dain.

The talent on campus the last 5 years is about as high as any 5 year period and almost certainly will continue. Tough to complain about recruiting when the talent level is so high.

Yes ... Coleman is great ...

He was Jeremiah's host for his OV ... He does a really, really good job hosting recruits ...

Jeremiah has a videographer film for him ... There are quite a few episodes so feel free to go back and watch but I will include a link to the video that includes part of his visit ...

Coleman looked less than enthused to be hosting in the video 😂

Let me ask you all a question. I get Ayo and whatnot but after Clark, Epps, Podz, probably DGL. Why do these 1/2 guards commit to Illinois? Don't get me wrong I am glad Fears has verbally committed but I mean what makes him think it would be any different? I mean to think Daddy Brad isn't going portal hunting to try to stay as old as possible they have to understand in patience and trusting the process which takes a special athlete in a world where their main goal is to get to the league as quickly as possible.
I think almost every major program is going portal hunting. I think freshmen has to be special to contribute day 1 in college with the transfer rules and extra years of eligibility

This year who are the standout freshmen stars

Just looking at stats Cody Williams from Colorado and Walter for Baylor are averaging over 15 points a game who are the 7 and 9th recurit

Morez now down by about 480 votes. It has to be classmates that are voting in numbers for the Mount Carmel kid
I know Morez is playing for Thornton now, but he did go to Rita for three years. Carmel and Rita are huge rivals--let's get the Rita kids on board! C'mon now, he gave you three great years!

Will definitely be more youth but I'd expect they pull in 3-4 veteran transfers.

Not going to be as old as the current team but will be plenty old. Sidenote: I wish Goode wpuld of just injury red shirted last season.
Possible he applies and gets an extra year as he only played in 10 games..... Doubtful, but maybe!
