They've become a farm league (or g league) for the P5 conferences.Coaching outside of the power conferences is such a tough gig, and itās only going to get tougher.

Will his role be more of a sharpshooting player off the bench? If so, he's good with that? (Honestly curious. I have no clue what his ceiling is.)Going to be a very nice role player the next 3 years. Can shoot the heck out of it
More than everThey've become a farm league (or g league) for the P5 conferences.
Compare him to Goode who only took 22 two point shots all season. Davis obviously takes a lot of 3s but at least showed he can attack a closeout or cut off the ball to score. He's not going to take it off the dribble but attacking closeouts means the defense can't just completely sell out to contest the shot.based on what? In 944 minutes of game play, he took 46 FTs. For comparison, in 1,023 minutes, Terrence Shannon took 260 FTs. Granted, Terrence gets more FTs than most, but that is 0.25 FTs/min vs 0.05 FTs/min. Marcus Domask shot 0.12 FTs/min.
Davis is a jump shooter only. I look at him and say nice player, there has to be someone better out there. I'm far less interested in these Low/Mid Major players unless they just jump off the page. I'd much rather go after the P6 transfers we know will flood the market shortly.
Glad I read first before posting this guy's name as someone I'd like to see us take a long hard look at. Similar in size to Shannon, play's downhill, strong defender, and showing signs of developing a 3 point shot.Otega Oweh - Oklahoma Sooners Guard - ESPN

Based solely on his mixtape which included a couple drives to the hoop where he looked comfortable and composed. FWIW, the video also says that 25% of his shot attempts are at the rim. Clearly I didn't do my homework.based on what? In 944 minutes of game play, he took 46 FTs. For comparison, in 1,023 minutes, Terrence Shannon took 260 FTs. Kinda tough to judge without knowing what his share of the NIL kitty would be. Also, it sounds like a guy of his size and shooting/skill level ended up at Mercer in the first place over concerns about his defense.based on what? In 944 minutes of game play, he took 46 FTs. And Javon Small.Imagine getting Storr and Oweh
see now I like this guy more than Davis in almost every way.I'm not an Illini fan but if you want to keep plundering MVC talent this guy is good
I guess itās time we had a long haired rock n roll looking dude on the teamJake Davis will be an Illini.

itās kinda crazy how fully 1/2 the roster will turnover just about every year nowok this is going to be fun seeing how Brad builds next year's team
FIFY. Jump on that Illini train--let's do this!I'm not an Illini fan, YET, but if you want to keep plundering MVC talent this guy is good
I like it - it keeps me from getting bored AND Coach Underwood has now become a Master of building rosters so the future is bright for the Illini.itās kinda crazy how fully 1/2 the roster will turnover just about every year now
To your point on Morezās soph season, is the goal every year with Brad just going to be to maximize wins that year or is there any consideration to a likely āpeakā year?I think him having three years is also a big deal for the staff as well. They want to really build this thing up not only for next year but 2025-Morez's sophomore season
Thatās the goal every yearā¦..for every coachTo your point on Morezās soph season, is the goal every year with Brad just going to be to maximize wins that year or is there any consideration to a likely āpeakā year?
It seems this past year if he thought TSJ and Coleman were coming back it made more sense to really go for it for the single run with 1 year mercenaries (that weāre in the middle of).
With filling possibly 4-5 spots, I hope a player like Morez is able to get significant playing time. But, if BU and staff will be getting studs, then I understand limited playing time, but I think Morez is a different animal, so to speak. He can make a difference from Day 1, I believe.Thatās the goal every yearā¦..for every coach

I'd be shocked if he didn't start on day 1.Morez might not start but heāll get a lot of playing time
