Because they didn't hardly play him during the regular season. Huge mistake but hard to criticize Underwood too much after the season they had. I do think Dainja should have played a lot more though.
Against who? He had serious defensive lapses most of the season. He occasionally didnt show a good motor. If he wasn't doing the scoring himself he clogged the lane. Illinois had a Top 5 (#1 for a while) offense in the country. Who would you have him replace in that offense?

I'm not doggin the kid, I love how hard he worked to trim down and how he plays when he's engaged. He has lots of skills. But they may not be suited or at a consistently high enough level to play big minutes for a B1G team.

For sure. But that’s only 1 player and the other names are pretty meh. I know my attitude is wrong about Storr…he’s a great player. Just not my favorite player.
He's definitely not a top 5 player in the BIG. If he's our top transfer, I'm super underwhelmed.

International players can’t collect NIL money in the states. They can when they go home/back overseas though
IF they are in the US on a student visa.

Could an NIL "purchaser" sponsor them on an employment visa? Would the NCAA let them play if they were?

There are barriers to this that might be insurmountable, but a potential goldmine for the first program to figure it out.

I honestly would be kinda sad if Sencire transfers out. He was maybe the best part of the 2022-23 season. The way he would just completely shift the energy in those games off the bench with his stifling defense was uncanny.
I was in Vegas, when we down to UCLA. Sincere was incredible and deserves all the credit for us winning that game. I won’t forget that.

I wouldn't be so sure about this one ... I talked with someone today who is close with the kid and we were not mentioned as a school and he mentioned 4 or 5 ...

Now ... That could change ...
It sure seems like our ace in the hole remains as it has been in both sports even before NIL, players who have gone out and had some experience in the college game, aren't starry eyed high school kids anymore, and have come to appreciate what it would mean to them to come back and rep the home state school.

And I think that's good for the program too, those are guys with skin in the game. I like all these IL native targets.

No--clearly I'm in the minority. But I'm not wowed by inefficient, high volume shooters. And I'm very skeptical that his game will suddenly change under a new coach.
I think its kind of odd that many feel guys that never or seldom shoot from distance can develop a shot but Storr who has shown flashes can't improve in a system that has developed players and fits them better. I think Storr is athletic and certainly has a chance to be very good player much like Brandon Paul but slightly taller and possibly even better.

Storr is more like Malcolm Hill than Brandon Paul. But both of those guys guarded and passed more than Storr did this year.
