No way...6'4" vs 6'5" uber athletic guards..drivers, dunkers, decent streaky shooters...Storr is more like BP or Luther Head to me.Storr is more like Malcolm Hill than Brandon Paul.

As super-underwhelmed as this board/ most fans were when SIU transfer Marcus Domask committed? He's definitely not a top 5 player in the BIG. If he's our top transfer, I'm super underwhelmed.

I was fired up when we landed him. Multiple All Valley and first teamer can score on all levels. Loved watching him in the Valley. Sign me up again with another that checks those boxes. As super-underwhelmed as this board/ most fans were when SIU transfer Marcus Domask committed?
Who are some possibilities? I don’t think we are going to throw the bag at a big especially with the other holes we have to fill.I wouldn't be so sure about this one ... I talked with someone today who is close with the kid and we were not mentioned as a school and he mentioned 4 or 5 ...
Now ... That could change ...
Storr is waaaaaaay more athletic than Malcolm
Storr is more athletic than Malcolm but he's not the explosive leaper BP3 was.No way...6'4" vs 6'5" uber athletic guards..drivers, dunkers, decent streaky shooters...Storr is more like BP or Luther Head to me.
Can we stop with this? A) This is an apple/oranges comparison. Not remotely the same thing. B) Not every transfer is going to be MD. And C) It’s ok to say a guy has a ton of talent and still have some concerns. As super-underwhelmed as this board/ most fans were when SIU transfer Marcus Domask committed?
I will say - people were generally excited about Domask, but moreso saw him as a roleplayer. Here's a snapshot of what some had to say about Domask when we landed him:mic drop
And the funny thing is, after the RayJ thing blew up, if you would have told me that Domask would be our leading assist man with a 3pt% under 30%, I would have told you we would finish dead last in the Big Ten.As super-underwhelmed as this board/ most fans were when SIU transfer Marcus Domask committed?
You were pretty spot on back then. Here's what you had to say:And the funny thing is, after the RayJ thing blew up, if you would have told me that Domask would be our leading assist man with a 3pt% under 30%, I would have told you we would finish dead last in the Big Ten.
I liked the Domask addition and knew he was going to be a major fixture for us (Maddox will be too), but in terms of his style of play it went totally different than I ever could have imagined. In my defense I don't think Domask or Underwood thought he would work as a quasi-conventional Big Ten point guard either.
This guy is nuts hahaha he’s like wembythis kid, Fears and AJ:
Y'all remember Brandon Paul right? In our game at Madison there was a lob that looked like it was headed into the first row of seats that Storr managed to grab and lay in, seemed like a pretty good leap to me at the time.
Domask is why I’ll no longer question any player this staff brings into the program. As super-underwhelmed as this board/ most fans were when SIU transfer Marcus Domask committed?
well, I'm not sure if those groups intersect or not. But I have no doubt that Storr can improve in the right system. My doubts come from the multiple transfers and the less than ideal team/EDG numbers. So can he improve? Of course. Will he buy into the culture that we saw this season? I don't know.I think its kind of odd that many feel guys that never or seldom shoot from distance can develop a shot but Storr who has shown flashes can't improve in a system that has developed players and fits them better. I think Storr is athletic and certainly has a chance to be very good player much like Brandon Paul but slightly taller and possibly even better.
Storr out of IMG was listed at 6'5" and at St John's 6'6" I'm not buying the 6'7" but ok. Storr is an athletic SG with much more of a face up, attacking skill set, streaky shooter like BP and Head than a back to the basket guy like Hill was as an Illini. Storr can certainly get up with BP. Hill was not a guy that was an athletic SG that attacked the rim like Storr, BP, and Head did. But whatever, Hill was taller for sure.. Gimme Storr in orange n blue.Storr is more athletic than Malcolm but he's not the explosive leaper BP3 was.
But my main point was that Storr is really big, he's 6'7" and long. BP3 was a combo guard type.
The difference between Hill and Storr is primarily the difference between basketball before the Curry revolution and basketball after.
The guy that went for 43 against the #5 team in the country, shooting 11/15 from the field and 8-10 from 3 in one of the most cracked performances I've ever seen? Yes, yes I do.Y'all remember Brandon Paul right?
Brandon Paul was a very explosive leaper. Storr is similar. Malcolm Hill not even close to those two (though he's very skilled).Y'all remember Brandon Paul right?
Imagine BP with a competent coaching staff.Y'all remember Brandon Paul right?
Hes WAY more athletic than Malcolm, are you kiddin me????Storr is more like Malcolm Hill than Brandon Paul. But both of those guys guarded and passed more than Storr did this year.
Gritty, you just forgot to add, “this should probably all add up to 1st Team All Big Ten”. I’m sure everyone here would’ve respected that assessment. You were pretty spot on back then. Here's what you had to say:
"Domask is a jack-of-all-trades. He'll put the ball on the floor a lot more and generate more stuff for himself and others. Good shooter, not elite. Probably a little more limited in the defensive matchups you can put him in."
