Is the shooting something that can be improved, at least from 15 feet and in?

When you want the shot charts to look like this the 15 footer doesn’t do a whole lot.

A floor spacing 5 is kinda essential to allow Ty to be the player he has been.

But all he needs is bare competence at wide open catch and shoot looks and things change for him.
I don’t know if he will ever get there

this has to be a bit of a yips situation, right? I've honestly never seen a guy his size, with some of the skill he has footwork wise, who has played ball most of his life, and was able to knock down a midrange shot in high school, become literally unwilling to shoot a jump shot.

For real, can you share any details on what's going on with him?
Gotta be the yips. He passed up several open LAY-UPS this year only to kick it out like the ball was a hot potato.
I love the guy but very frustrating to watch.

If everything plays out like they want I have a hard time seeing Ty starting next year
I feel bad for Ty and from everything I’ve ever seen he’s universally loved by fans, players, coaches, etc, (for good reason) but imo this would be a net positive for the team’s potential ceiling next year. I feel terrible saying it, but I’m kind of glad to hear from an insider that this might be the direction that Brad and the staff is looking to go.
