I remember him, but I was under the impression he'd fill the "Coleman Hawkins" role. But that would mean we'd be in a similar spot like last year. I was looking at Dain replacement. Not offensively but a defensive big with size that can actually stay on the court.

I just worry about how we'll fair against bigs in the B10 since it seems there's some good talent there in the conference.

I am confused on the need for a center.
We had one last year in Dain and he played limited minutes. If we pick up just a serviceable 5, won’t he get minimal minutes as well?

I have never watched Booth play, but I haven’t seen anything from Amani that leads me to believe he’s going to be a great one. Is Booth terrible? Serious question.

We didn't see anything from Amani to make heads or tails out of his value. He was either injured, got 911 minutes or got garbage minutes. We don't know anything about Amani, but that's what the portal has turned college ball into. They leave before we actually see them perform. That's a replaceable commodity.....I think?

The good news is that in NIL World, that dream foursome we're always salivating over is likely to have exactly one come to us, with the other three at three different schools, as opposed to the old days where Ohio State or Kentucky would get 3-4 of them and we get nothing.

They're all going to take the most dollars they can, that is going to spread talent out, not combine it together.

If he doesn't play defense well (like Dain), he'll get minimal minutes (depending on the opponent).

I have never watched Booth play, but I haven’t seen anything from Amani that leads me to believe he’s going to be a great one. Is Booth terrible? Serious question.

Booth plays like a 6’10 spot up shooter that does nothing else. 6’10 guys that shoot 30% from 3, and do nothing else aren’t very desireable.

I’d much rather keep Hansberry. Booth looks the part. But Stats are terrible

The portal business is truly insane. Just a couple days ago, it seemed like Illinois was getting Maddox, Boswell, Storr, Booth, and possibly a 5. Now it seems they've moved on from Storr. Maddox is a Xavier lean. Booth is visiting but maybe isn't jazzed about playing the 5, and Raynaud is back at Stanford and Garrison is a no-go. I honestly have no clue what to think right now.

They need to go All In on Boswell. Make sure you get him. Then build around him. Boswell is better than every other player we are looking at

I'm not really asking for post scoring to clog up the lane. I'm just looking for a defensive big that can play a reserve role and match up with opposing bigs. We didn't just struggle against Edey we struggled against almost every decent big such as:

Jonas Aidoo - 14 pts 7 rebs (6/12 FG)
Julien Reese - 20 pts 11 rebs (8/16 FG)
Tarris Reed Jr - 21 pts 5 rebs (6/11 FG)
Clif OMORUYI - 22 pts 9 rebs (10/19 FG)
Mathew Nickelson - 12 pts 8 rebs (6/7 FG)
Malik Reneau - 21 pts 7 rebs (8/12 FG)
Reink Mast - 22 pts 6 rebs (8/21 FG)
Qudus Wahab - 13 pts 5 rebs (6/10 FG)
Julien Reese - 18 pts 11 rebs (6/8 FG)

We won 29 games and were a top 10 team.

Would you have rather have a defensive big instead of Dainja? Because his *offense* won us a couple games.

Now, I thought this was a forgone conclusion? There's still more "all in" needed?

I've kind of said all along ... I think they add Booth ...

I have heard we are out on Garrison and Reed ... And we aren't really attached to any other true 5s at the moment ...

Now that might change but for now ... That's where we sit ...

If we add another 5 along with Booth, will transfers play like 80% of the minutes?

I'm accustomed to certain posters adding 2 inches to players' heights. But I guess 4 is the new 2.
