Nothing crazy about it. It’s called the free market.

What’s crazy is that the people paying all the NIL $$$ are not the same people who are raking in the big $$$ from the product on the floor.

Fans are paying for the players.
School is keeping all the revenue.

It’s wild. I’m not going to tell anyone what to do with their money but fans paying money to a collective so they can get some players is the ultimate in discretionary spending. I have to think of a recession hits this will die way down

Lots of people believe that. Probably the vast majority.

The question on many minds is whether we're going to have a cohesive team. The last two years tells us that we won't really know for sure until about February.

I would not say that we are out on Maddox ... The race is just much closer than it was even a couple days ago ... Sean is feeling confident ... But we're going to get a chance to lock it down before he does ... I do think that Maddox wants to be here but is the role going to be better here than what he is going to get at Xavier ? Because he'll start there and easily get 30+ minutes a game ... NIL is essentially the same ... So I think it really is going to be a tough decision for the young man ...

If we do lose out on Maddox ... Couple names to watch: Ryan Conwell, Jordan Pope, Duke Miles and Selton Miguel ...

Any of those 4 would be a really nice add, or even Maddox. Like were we hypothetically could be the 2 spot next year.

He would have had a lot more minutes without the back injury that kept him off the floor in Jan-Feb.

This is a great point. It also, unfortunately, might be why the staff wants to add a little depth there. I don't have much to back it up, but boy it sure seems like back issues persist, often over careers.

Dee was the one who recruited CJ to UIC ... Dee was standing next to me evaluating him and asking me my thoughts ... Lol ...

Especially with big men as well. Ultimately the buck stops with Brad so I hope he saw his coming with his portal strategy.

Happy for Chester if this is a promotion or a step towards a HC gig. I assume this means Frazier was the one not super happy with guys getting recruited over.

Assuming this may be Hansberry to West Virginia. Maybe Harris too.

I’m not one to question TA and what he brought to the team. But during our downward spiral on the defensive end I remember hearing from multiple posters why TA wasn’t in charge of defensive scheming instead of Hamer. Maybe his defensive prowess as a player didn’t translate over to coaching…?

Does this have anything to do with the lateral move @Indy Illini Fan ?
