Hey if we think basketball is crazy with the portal, an entire NHL franchise just entered the portal and committed to Salt Lake City
I remember that show! It featured Jerry Reinsdorf, Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen and it was called "The Last Dance".I think we can get a guy who’s going to be 80% of what Storr can be at about 50% of what Storr is asking.
No, but we do need his talent and especially his 17 - 20 PPG. They can deal with his mom. The old, "we don't want him anyway" commentary is nothing more than self soothing. If we're 17-12 next year having to win games 62-60.... you'll revisit being ok working with a loud parent. Coaches for 12 year old AAU teams do it daily. If his mom is going to be an issue let him go somewhere else. We don’t need those distractions.
Sorry if I'm missing your point, but is this argument in favor of trying to get Storr at all costs??I remember that show! It featured Jerry Reinsdorf, Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen and it was called "The Last Dance".
It'd be great to have Storr, but if he's not interested enough to be an Illini, then let's move the hell on and get another player. If his mom is going to be an issue let him go somewhere else. We don’t need those distractions.

Pretty basic strategic thinking. It'd be great to have Storr, but if he's not interested enough to be an Illini, then let's move the hell on and get another player.
Elite teams do this.
If there were a theme song to "portal season", what would it be? Maybe this one?
where we stand with Storr apparently
The Storr recruitment isn't going to shake out until after the combine - infinite time left on that one
I would need to have a better sense of the alternative to answer that question really.just to be clear, are you in favor of getting him regardless of the cost?
Storr is an art aficionado? Who knew. I think you can get some lower tier Monet's for a pretty reasonable price if you need to sweeten the pot a bit.I would need to have a better sense of the alternative to answer that question really.
Also, I really do believe the cost is TBD. The staff might think they know how much ammo is out there and how much desire there is for Storr, but they don't and inherently can't.
John Tyson owns original Andy Warhol's. He can get AJ Storr. If Kentucky and Mark Pope thinks that's a move that can save face, they can get AJ Storr.
But that said, Boswell and Storr would be worth going pretty crazy for, IMO. High risk, but Final Four type upside.
He'd have to improve for his 17-20 points to come on less than 17-20 shots. He's not a guaranteed (much less already proven) star. He has a high ceiling, and even if he turns out to be great, it might not happen until he gets to the NBA. It would be different if we thought he'd be around for a few years, but expensive one year rentals should be more of a sure thing in my opinion. No, but we do need his talent and especially his 17 - 20 PPG. Is this moneyball?I think we can get a guy who’s going to be 80% of what Storr can be at about 50% of what Storr is asking.

Let’s see what calmness today brings.
