It's April 13th everyone. There is still a lot to play out. Just give it a few weeks.

With totally different expectations. This would be a rebuild.
"Rebuild" has developed a weird valence in the pro sports world where it's "sucking, basically on purpose, and demanding admiration for doing so".

But rebuilding is just what college sports is. The entire Big Ten is rebuilding, that's everyone. We rebuilt this season.

I guess I'm probably a bit more conscious of the downside of next year's team even with Storr, but I don't see the upside promise dimmed all that much if Storr gets replaced with, like, Sincere Parker or Ryan Conwell.

Losing TSJ, Domask, Coleman, Dain, Hansberry
Gaining Boswell, Booth, Tre, Davis

Hate to say it but that's a bottom half Big Ten team unless Brad works some serious magic(which is possible)

If Indiana lands 3 of the top 15 transfers as it's looking like they will. You can put them in this list too. Not even Mike Woodson could mess that up
Indiana still doesn’t have shooting. I believe he can mess it up still

Again it doesn't have to be all so dramatic.

Storr wants the best deal. Great. Go find us a better offer and we'll match it, or not, either way we have a resolution. We need to get busy with other possibilities in the meantime.

"Just as Good?" No. Boswell is the much better player with more upside. The important numbers...shot percentages and assist to turnover ratio for Rice...they are downright ugly. Heaven knows why this message board guy is so enamored with him. Once Boswell dials in his nutrition and gets Fletched up, I think we'll see even greater improvement than we did from freshman to sophomore year from him. We are getting the guy with far more potential who will make our team much better in the long run than Rice will make Indiana.
I agree with you. I I believe he is better, but was trying to be nice and say at the least he’s just as good.

Again, I think people are gonna be surprised by the impact of Rez. I think he will be in the running for BFrosh of the year. I am not an Insider!!!
I saw one of Morez Johnson’s high school games when he was matched against Lathan Sommerville, who has signed with Rutgers. I believe he is 6,10”. Morez was dominant and so much more polished and effective. Lathan Sommerville is a bully, by the way. Morez has a high basketball IQ like Coleman, he has a sweet shot and great form on his shot. He is a natural baller, so smooth, quick and athletic. Illini fans will love this guy.

Yep, exactly right in my view. Every year is a complete rebuild henceforth. Every dang year.

Got 3 guys back? Great! What roles do you envision for them? Not the same ones from last year, because the roster changed in April! Wow, I would never have thought .... grrrr

Every year is a complete rebuild henceforth. Every single year.

It is SO hard to do. Hope our staff can do it, support 'em.

I was at the rematch when Lathan got his revenge. That kids gonna be a really good one as well.

Saw some stuff on the main Reddit post on Boswell in the portal about his partying and gambling habits. Anyone know how legit this is and how concerned we should be?

Rice was a freshman Marcus was a 5th year senior 😂 this is not a comparison. Also Myles was shooting 36% from 3 until he went through a slump (likely fatigue from having to sit out a year due to cancer)
I'm pointing out the comparison to rebut the notion that those numbers for Rice were "downright ugly".

They were pretty close to those of our first-team All B1G point guard, as a freshman.

If folks think 3.8/2.6 AST/TO is ugly, I have some bad news about Tre White and AJ Storr.

Rice's ORtg on sports reference was 106.7. Domask this year was 116.4. Domask as a freshman was 110.9, and his worst was 107. Rice could improve to be as good as or better than Domask, but he might not, and he was definitely a tier below him this year.

Let me repost this from earlier.
Next transfer addition coming very soon.
As for questions on Storr, he’s not the make or break for us. We are in on over a dozen kids right now and more that we have feelers out. Obviously some are a priority but we won’t be left hung out to dry.
We have probably a good 90% of signing Storr. But it’s hard to get any solid information from his own insiders. Is it all about the money? Some feel it is. But it’s also about winning. Does he want to be option #1? Or can he agree to play team ball. As in facilitating. It makes a huge difference when trying to reach the top. Know when to give the ball up
