Disagree, Goode is a better player than Humichrous (28.1 MPG in Big Ten play). So there was definitely "a spot". Maybe they misevaluated or missed out on better targets, but if anything Illinois is often too eager to show guys the door as "not having a spot" only to realize better options aren't there. Retention should be a higher priority imo.
I thought Goode left because he got his degree from Illinois and wanted to play at home, with his brother, not because the team didn't have a spot for him.

Dix is wayyyyyyy better at basketball than Luke
Yeah so was Ben Humrichous and Carey Booth last year.

All I’m saying is our ceiling is very limited if Josh Dix is our priority. He might have a deeper offensive bag than Luke but that’s also been on an Iowa team with not much competition

Making 50% of your shots in the B1G is really hard. Especially if you are on a team where you are clearly one of the better players.

All of this talk about Podz leaving, what about all the others Brad recruited as high end players but then didn't play them. They left too. Doesn't that say he isn't a good recruiter or at least doesn't vet them well enough to fits his scheme? Dra is a good player, you want to criticize his defense on a team that doesn't even know the definition of defense. That's a joke! Night after night this team led by KJ, KB, TRE, Will got lit up by 3 point shooters. That falls on the coaching staff period!

I love Morez as a freshmen but he has to develop an outside shot- at least to 15 feet, even in this age of emphasis on the 3 point shot, or else he's gonna be very much like a bigger version of Ty. Most good 4's can at least score some from beyond 7 feet from the basket. Otherwise, we are playing 4 on 5 on offense.Sure it might detract a bit from his offensive rebounding opportunities but I think being a scoring threat from other than near the rim would more than make up for that with opening up the offense more for others. And the professional ranks aren't gonna be interested in him either unless he can add some offensive versatility to his game.
Morez has a better shot than Ty and isn't terrible at the arch. I am sure he knew he should not shoot them this year. Head down dunk and rebound

They should frame it similar how Warriors used Iguodala off the bench. Ty off the neck would make our team much much stronger for matchups

Iguodala spaces the floor with his shooting. Ty can’t do that.
Will it be worth the price? Was he that good? I didn’t watch enough Iowa to have a good feel

I don’t think Josh Dix makes much of a difference. He’d be a role player on a good team. Just a shooter that needs other guys to make up for his poor defense. If you already have a great team, then he can fit.

Yeah, but Braden Smith won’t be nearly as good cuz no Edey. At least that is what I read in this board preseason this year.
Hey! I was wrong! Is that what you want? Fine. I was dead wrong on this one. Dude is a killer... He got better. But he still lost at Illinois :)

(I did predict second team all big ten so not completely off)

I don’t understand why we want Dix so bad. I thought we wanted to be more athletic and better defensively
dude is a floor spacer and a multi-dimensional scorer (mid-range king). While bad defensively, I do think Brad could help with that as not many players from AWOI play D.
