Money is interesting. If money is relatively equal then I think you get into all of those variables. State income tax can give tax free states some advantage and I am sure they let their players know.If we're being honest there's only a couple different factors at play for the collegiate athletes.
1. Money
2. Playing time (which is a chance to increase value and earn more money both in college and professionally)
3. Playing scheme (which is a chance to increase value and earn more money both in college and professionally)
4. Relationships with staff (which could ensure more alignment with 2 and 3)
At the end of the day, all roads lead back to money whether it be present earnings or future earnings. It is interesting how no athlete ever highlights when a coaching staff has sold them on being allowed to develop a skill set that lends itself to the pros but that coaching staff uses them in the same manner as the previous staff/s.
This just shows it's all about perception
My comment was more about them getting along and hanging out together vs Brad is bad.To be fair to Dain though, if he wanted someone who wasn't going to coach him at all and let him do whatever he wants, Penny Hardaway is the man. Hard to compete with that level of freedom.
This is simply not true. (From being in management for 15 years, and also having dropped plenty of details during my own exits)No one learns anything from an exit interview.
Senceire definitely fits this list and he's the greatest example of #4. He has to cash in as much as possible now bc he's not an NBA or even a high euro prospect. He needs to be at a program where the coaching staff values his specific skillset enough to provide more of 2 and 3 and thus rationalize giving him a higher amount of 1 than many other programs.Agree, but I can't imagine a player similar to Sencire will fetch much more money going to another school. I think those that have a very high skillset (top 6ish on a team) follow your list
Dix's agent still looking for a school that will actually offer him $2m. LOL.
Unlikely that Kansas actually offered Josh Dix $2m, btw.
Although they might be deferring to post a bit (due to unkind DMs, wtvr), the fact that LVille and Indy both liked these posts is conformation there's something brewing.I take this back
A truthier truth has never been more truthfully truthed.
Their 7-3 guy coming back next season coulda played a role....
Heard he tried to triple stamp a double stamp... Which is clearly not allowed. That’s it it! Brad prolly hustled Dain in cards…and Dain’s still a little sore about it. No big whoop. /s
Agreed, but also does not mean either of them were specifically referring to Illinois.Says one guys who played for three different teams in 4 years and another guys who’s about to be on his third team in three years? Yeah- thank you for the wisdom you two
Any timeline on possible decision for Dix? He is done with his (main) visits.
That's how I took it as well.Agreed, but also does not mean either of them were specifically referring to Illinois.
Certainly possible but could also be a general commentary on the NCAA today.
