Our chances of Sarr going up, down or the same?

Regardless, I think we’ll make a better run next year.
It depends on whether this drags out. Sarr is playing in the top Euro league and killing it. To put it in perspective, KJ was much more of a role player when he played in those games. As players begin to sign and the number of quality players goes down, do the math.

Personally, I think he has the potential to be better as a freshman than Will and KJ were.

The optics aren't necessarily bad either. I think the optics are that the average fan doesn't know sh@t about what's going on behind the scenes or in their (the players') heads. I haven't heard either of them say anything derogatory about Illinois. I'm sure they are unhappy about being recruited over, but that isn't a unique quality of the Illinois program. I do disgree with Buck and Dain's comment about it not being about money...it's the only things it's about. Whether that $ is immediate via NIL or future via playing time and exposure...it's about $. Period. Egos are just along for the ride.
It’s not about money for Harris. Ain’t nobody opening a wallet for a 39/11/75 shooter

22 wins and a 6 seed would be a pretty good season for most schools. 22 wins and a 6 seed at Illinois is probably very close to our median season over the last 40 years.

22 wins and a 6 seed – IS a pretty good season for most schools. But that’s the thing. The Fighting Illini are not like most schools. Our Beloved has an incredible history and legacy of playing winning roundball. Thus – expectations for the program and for us as fans are always higher. And for good and sound reasons.

The Illini have been stuck in this purgatory of being a level or grade below the Elite 8/Final Four rank (consistently) for too long now. The Illini have been just close enough to get our fan passions aroused and for us start to taste The Sweet Life – and then the guys run into one of the monster programs that is already and currently at or near the Elite level. Thus, Tournament Purgatory that the guys and we are stuck in.

Do we appreciate an overall great season again? Sure we do. Do we want more than that? Sure we do.

But if it’s always gonna come down to programs with more money than the Illini to spend grabbing up all the truly top players – those programs will continue to dominate the Top Ten and the Illini will remain in Tournament Purgatory.

The teams that remain standing in The Dance are clearly powerhouses loaded with amazing talent. The current Illini would have had trouble with any of them had they survived this far.

They say money can't buy happiness. But if money brings in the greatest talent here -- that would make us around here pretty happy anyway.

Money won't be an issue this offseason, the budget will be there. Z would be a great start. Biggest thing is to land a big time 2/3 in the portal and get pieces around them. Hopefully land Sarr as well.
So you're telling us that Sarr ISN'T the big time 2/3?

step out to run a few errands and there's 8 new pages to read. and probably nothing concrete has happened. yeah, we care. a lot
I just hope our group realizes that if these players were their kids. They may handle things a little differently, but it will come down to the money first. There are other factors at play. Sure there are but if the difference is 1/4 a million bucks? What would you do?

Yep. Tomi played his cards very well here, and I think it'll benefit both sides.
Coach said in an interview that Tomi has some gangster in him. He said he was the toughest illini player. He also said that he knows Tomi was cussing at him in Croatian during practice but can’t prove it but Brad said “I know he’s was cussing me out in the Croatian language.”
