What a POS. Hope he shoots 12% on threes next year and Michigan goes 11-13 in the Big Ten. This feels like the worst screw you moment to this program since Eric Gordon. Hope we give him the Chester Frazier treatment.

Are we sure? We did try to get AJ Storr last year and I’m under the impression that Brad respects Greg Gard.

But again, I’m not saying the cases are exactly the same between Dix and Morez. I agree that the coach being fired makes a difference, as I noted in the first post too.

But there might be a teensy little similarity is all I’m saying.

(And of course I would have greatly preferred for Morez to go to a different conference.)
I believe they kicked the tires on Storr b/c he is a dominant slashing guard like TSJ but he must have failed the tests that the coaching staff administers to get the kind of guys they want on their roster(in other words, attempting to avoid me first guys). It's unclear how hard they were in on Storr but I think Underwood is closer to Fran than Gard

Wow if Morez needed any motivation for next year, there’s a lot of it here

Morez announces he is down to 6 schools and then ~4 hours later commits to one? I'm taking this with a grain of salt until I see a confirmation tomorrow.

I cannot believe Morez picked Michigan! Unbelievable slap in our face.
While I'm not happy he left...I don't understand the thought process that Morez owes us anything. It would be one thing if he was here for 4 years and the left to a competing school(like someone we know...), but he's leaving after one-year. If we are the big time program we claim to be, then put your big boy.pants on and understand this is how MBB is now.

I doubt they let him shoot 3s.

Short list of players I can think of that transferred away and if they made a tournament or raised NBA stock by leaving.
Brandin Podziemski - Arguably the only miss Brad's let slip, went to SC raised his stock, great rookie year but he's a defensive liability now.
Adam Miller - No tournaments - two schools (LSU, ASU)
Skyy Clark - Not a program changer by any means but did make an NCAA tournament with UCLA. Abysmal season at Louisville.
R.J. Melendez - two other programs, made the tournament this year with Miss St. but by no means a star player.
Luke Goode - Miss him and plays hard but missed the tournament with Indiana after they were ranked top-15 in many preseason polls.
Brandon Lieb - Meme lord but no NCAA tournament for him at ISU.
Sincere Harris - Understandably followed Frazier to WVU, transferring again. Missed tournament.
Amani Hansberry - See above.
Jayden Epps - Has played two seasons at Georgetown (or as I refer to them now "that bull!!!! program"). Still has not made an NCAA tournament with them.
Nico Moretti - No NCAA tournament.
Coleman Hawkins - Arguably the most amicable of the "breakups" I suppose he would've had a role in this years team but significantly less with Ivisic and Riley on the court...Got his money from K-State but no postseason.
Dain Dainja - Love him but he would've had a very Morez Johnson role when he showed an ability to thrive in a four around one offense. Missed watching him play and got to the tournament so I suppose this could be seen as a miss as well.
Tre White - First tournament with Illinois will see how it pans out for him but 4 schools in 4 years is concerning and he's replaceable with some good shooting.
Morez Johnson - Loved the guy but the way he (his family?) handled his transfer was pretty awful. Knocking a former player who was an all-American and two time Big Ten first team player and saying you'd prefer your career doesn't end up like his is astonishing and delusional. At this point I hope it doesn't pan out like Kofi's and Morez becomes a Malik Reneau type "star" for Michigan.

Point is, I'll trust Brad on transfers in versus transfers out. He usually wins these battles. Extending our streak vs. Michigan is huge now though.

I don’t really care that Morez is going to Michigan. I would have preferred he not be in B1G, but not surprised. Probably grew up wanting to play in B1G, Michigan has had some success and they’re going to pay him a boatload. For those who say it is now personal, for you maybe not him. I’m sure he took Ben playing over him personal too.

Storr is a mercenary like Tre White. It's part of the expectation when you sign him that he's gone.
