Just a general question for the insiders. How has the staff handled the Morez defection? Obviously not happy but is it basically status quo for the transfer portal era or is this one more personal?

I agree with you here. Can't blame him for wanting to see what else is out there though. He gave us this year, which many thought he was gone last. Only thing I didn't like was his body language and appeared to be checked out once things got tough for him towards the end of the season. Which, I see both sides of the fence on that one. Wish him well though, for sure.
There’s also the possibility that he plays the same role he played here, but gets the minutes he thinks he deserves, resulting in he and his family being happy with his situation.
As much as I want to agree, he regressed throughout the season in almost every aspect. Was a non-factor as a shooter and a defensive liability. And he went away from his strength of getting downhill.

I try to stay away from the speculation and just keep the grid based on what's officially official.
That said, when draft declarations start, I'll probably add a couple of distinctions for guys that are for sure gone (KJ) or could declare and return (Tomi) so their spots can be noted until the withdrawal deadline passes.
He did sign with OA and Kentucky out of HS, so there is a relationship there obviously - he decommitted when Cal left and there were a few days on this board where we were hoping he would follow OA here, but given he reclassed and had two years in college he supposedly got a huge bag to go to ASU - at the time I thought I heard it was a two year NIL deal - but as we know those are non-binding! Would be a huge get if OA can pull it off, he's one of the best shot blockers in the country and great on defense overall, which would be a nice complement to the Ivisic brothers

I’m not remotely an insider, but I would guess the staff was less than thrilled. However, they all understand that, unfortunately, this is the climate we live in and part of the business. I’m guessing they suspected this was a possibility and have been recruiting accordingly.

I really hope we can lock down Davis, there is upside there, really crafty offensive player.
It will be interesting to see where DGL lands, kinda hard to know what his market value might be.
