I wouldn't be opposed to this - he could be the mobile athletic PF (although undersized) that is a very good 3pt shooter that we need. He has a lot of upside and has played in the big ten for two years

Totally agree. Games would be lopsided in favor of the Battles. Plus, no guarantee the Ty team would have enough players. A couple of them might decide to redshirt.Probably obvious given my handle but Kenny and it's not close. Does NOT mean I don't love Ty too!

Eh, I get RJ Melendez vibes from him. Has all the talent but just can’t consistently put it together. Just seems like he struggles with confidence on the court.I wouldn't be opposed to this - he could be the mobile athletic PF (although undersized) that is a very good 3pt shooter that we need. This is correct. I do tend to think if they're looking forward to the NBA and Brad refused to train Morez to be anything other than a traditional 4, then this complaint makes sense because they're looking toward a future in the league. But the five-out offense has been what Brad used all year, and there was never any talk about expanding Morez' game outside of the post. And wasn't it only a few weeks ago they were all saying how all-in they were and continued to be on Illinois?I don't think dad will get his underwear in a bunch, because he and it are full of, and this was all about the $$$.
That's 3 outgoing transfers for Purdue now
4, but who's counting - that is the same as us for now and we're the turnstyle program and they are the model of homegrown consistencyThat's 3 outgoing transfers for Purdue now
Are they role players? Forgot who, but some college basketball guy on X thinks PU will be ranked #1 in the country next year. That's 3 outgoing transfers for Purdue now
You do realize how UTTERLY USELESS these sheets are at this point. The only thing that has any amount of accuracy whatsoever is the first column 2024-2025.
Not sure about 1 in the country, but they should certainly win the big ten with those 4 starting. Are they role players? Forgot who, but someone college basketball guy thinks PU will be ranked #1 in the country next year.
They have Braden Smith, Renn, and Loyer coming back in addition to a 7'2 guy. Not sure if this makes PU #1 in the country, but interesting.
Well what’s really interesting to me is the addition of Cluff. Purdue really found their footing this year when they went away from the 2 bigs lineup and surrounded Smith and TKR with shooters, plus Furst in sort of a Ty like roving screener, offensive rebounder type role. Presumably Cluff will want more touches. Does that clog the lane too much for TKR? And where does that leave Jacobson who was starting before he got hurt (and I also think could be all conference/all America type material if Painter sticks around and he stays healthy). Are they role players? Forgot who, but someone college basketball guy thinks PU will be ranked #1 in the country next year.

Don't forget Jacobsen another 7 footer and good prospect coming back. They will definitely be top 5 minimum. I don't know much about cluff but if he is a good defender then they will be really good. Defense was their weakness this year, along with having a bunch of stiffs outside of the big 2 + loyer (still looks like a ventriloquist doll)Are they role players? They'll be the consensus #1 in the B10. After that in terms of nationally... it's pretty subjective. Not sure about 1 in the country, but they should certainly win the big ten with those 4 starting.
Since you know, how much did we offer him?I'd have invested in DGL. Bet on your own guys.
DGL is a good player but not a PG or even good handling the ball. Unfortunately in the 24-25 Illinois offense he was stuck in the corner and not a great outside shooter.I don't think he needs to drop down a level to thrive. I think he can showcase himself in a middling program of a power 5 conference like a Georgia, TCU, or Stanford.
There was a lot of discussion around how Purdue is able to keep players here and on social media. NIL/Transfer portal has no bias when it comes to $$

I think he's gonna have to drop down a level. I dont see him in the B1G or SECAs long as he doesn't go to IU, Michigan, or Mizzou.
Did any other Illini portal entrant leave a farewell message? Or has it gone out of fashion? This is how you leave a team... best wishes to DGL and hopes that he can find a team where he can play a bigger role and inspire with his energy.

That guy seemed to make clutch 3’s all the time.Yeah, Cam Heide's stats are not impressive except his shooting... 39% on threes... but he was #4 on Purdue in minutes played at 19.7 (wow, that is a crazy stat by itself).
If Painter wants to mainly eschew the portal and build from within, this is not a guy you would want to lose. They'll have a good run next year but I wonder if it's going to fall off a cliff when the big three graduate at the end of next season.
