Another possible transfer Guard (a CG?) that I like is Senior Jaron Pierre Jr. of Jacksonville State. The 6'5" 188-pound Pierre is 6'5" 188-pounds, and he averaged 21.6/5.5/3.8 and shot 42.4/38.2/81.0 this past season for Jacksonville State. He'd be a great scorer off the bench, or at 6'5" he could start alongside Boswell as a SG in the backcourt. His stats show that he's a big-time scorer (21.6/game), a solid rebounder (5.5/game), and a very willing passer (3.8/game). He shot 3s very well (38.8%), and he was excellent on FTs (81.0%). I know that Jax St is not a high D-! team, but it looks like this kid is a player.
The potential transfer player that I really wish the Illini were in on is 6'4" 180-pound Junior Guard Xaivian Lee of Princeton. He's a smart, high basketball IQ, combo guard that would (imho) fit perfectly with the Illini next season. He can score (16.9 points/game), rebound (6.1/game), and pass (5.5 assists/game). His shooting is solid: 43.9% on FGs, 36.6% on 3s, and 78.9% on FTs. He can play on the ball or off the ball. Lee has interest from St. John's, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, and other high D-1 teams. Maybe Illinois would not have a chance to land Xaivian Lee? But I hope that we at least reached out to him.
