If we don't sign either Stojakovic or Miller, I think the Illini could add:

Malik Thomas, San Francisco, G, Sr, 6'5", 205 pounds, 19.9/3.9/2.1 and 44.4/39.4/85.1
Kennard Davis Jr, Southern Illinois, G, Soph, 6'6", 215 pounds, 16.3/4.9/2.6 and 45.5/37.6/76.3
Isaiah Swope, SLU, Sr, G, 5'10", 175 pounds, 17.1/3.2/4.2 and 43.3/35.9/75.6 OR
Samage Teel, Indiana State, Sr, G, 6'2", 185 pounds, 16.9/4.1/5.2 and 47.3/34.7/78.7
Josh Harris, North Florida, Frosh, F, 6'*', 210 pounds, 13.4/7.1/0.6 and 55.7/33.3/69.5

Again, that would be a decent roster IF (that's a BIG if) we miss out on all of Sarr, Watkins, and Stojakovic.
add ali dibba from Southern ILL

Yes, players get more expensive the longer teams wait. This is a player's market.
I would imagine there's a tipping point. Money gets spent, rosters get filled, and some players may end up priced out and looking for a team. Even if the money is seemingly endless, teams want to feel like they got a decent deal (i.e., not giving a depth piece $1MM), and players need exposure / playing time in order to increase their future value.

Thomas is a pass for reasons …

Swope is out of eligibility …

Davis is asking for too much $$$ … More than Ace …

Sign me up for Harris.

I mean, Coleman Hawkins waited until June to snag $2M, which was one of the highest values last year. I don't see any real-world indication that waiting costs players anything thus far.

Everyone is hung up on visits.

I sold real estate for several years. You would think you would want to see it firsthand before buying it, right? I remember driving people around and showing them ten homes in a day. Man, I hated that.

Things changed. Now, my agents sell most homes without the buyer seeing it before they close. We do this by videotaping a walk-through of the house and neighborhood. I know for a fact that there are videos that show the facilities. We get on a Zoom call and speak to the buyer face-to-face. We get them in touch with a home inspector and neighbors to help them decide.

I'm sure much of that translates to recruiting.

Additionally, the coaches are out on the road meeting with the recruits. Brad and company flew to Seattle to meet with Sarr, and KJ showed up for third-party validation. He knows Illinois will be a good landing spot to get him into the NBA, so I'm not worried if he comes onto campus or not.

Exactly.

And that was last offseason. A drop in the bucket to this one with NIL spending. And no offense to Coleman, he never was/is going to be a primary option for a team. Kansas State just (foolishly IMO) paid him like it last offseason. And awesome for Coleman for getting life changing money 💪. There's bound to be players better than Coleman available this offseason at same point (for whatever reason).

If he needs a waiver it's guaranteed he gets it. He's only played three full seasons.
I don’t believe he had any kind of season ending injury his first year at Baylor. I agree he could have a case, but playing any amount of games eliminates a redshirt based on the rule
