This might be the most drawn out recruitment for a transfer so far. Kid just now saying goodbye to Cal lol
Ian Jackson was similar- visited St John’s over a weekend and committed 8 days later

Given Andrej said in his portal announcement that a return to Cal was on the table, he just wanted to close that book in a classy way before announcing a decision, gives him a chance to do his thank you to fans and coaches. Nothing wrong with that

It all makes sense now! The info you've been withholding is...he's been locked in since the beginning. All of what has happened is just theatrics to avoid tampering charges.

Why still use this account if you have your other one back?

You can't cap a salary if there is no salary to begin with. NIL is not salary. It is not paid by the school, athletic department, or program. It is paid by third parties. As I've explained before, NIL exists for pros too. Nike shoe deals are NIL. Campbell's Soup commercials are NIL. Chris/Cliff Paul hocking auto insurance is NIL. None of those deals count towards salary caps imposed on professional teams. A salary cap won't "fix" NIL, because it has nothing to do with NIL.
I get that. Do you have any idea what Werner is talking about then?

I wonder if he will do the whole press conference hat choosing bit... You know the whole 2 hats bit?? Almost like I've seen this one before🤔

There were always some thoughts that he may stay.

Seeing as Andrej went to Stanford and then Cal, I have always wondered, does he place a high value on education? Stanford isn't really a haven for 5 star recruits, and they hadn't made the tourney at all under their coach. After struggling at Stanford, Cal seemed a strange place to transfer to.

We are certainly a high level academic university, so that fits the mold. But so is UNC and Florida. I'm assuming his family lives in California. So I'm wondering if his preference is to stay on the West Coast, and he's talking to UCLA and USC to give them a chance to get involved to stay closer to home?

It really makes no sense why he hasn't committed long ago. I fully believe he gave us a soft commit on his visit, but it's been almost 10 days. We've seen how quickly recruitments can change just before a commitment. 10 days is not quick. It's got to be more than just money.
Maybe he is just trying to do the right thing and say goodbye to his former fans before saying hello to his new fans. Could be he is just a good kid with good parents. 🤷‍♂️

I don't know what this means? I was referring to how everyday we got told stop worrying he's committed. That seems more and more challenging to believe as each day passes. We all know how the recruiting process works, but this has shades of Demetrius Jackson written on it.
I wasn't trying to single you out but it's crazy to me how fans want these players to make life impacting decisions on our timelines. Wouldn't it make sense that these will drag out longer than pre-NIL recruitments? Before schools would make their all-in best pitch and then the player would weigh all his options. In today's world other schools can now change their initial offers by sweetening the pot. FWIW I still really feel good where we are at with AS.

I’m a lurker, and find the information the insiders provide to be helpful to appease my need for Illini based news. With that being said keep up the great work!

Also Brad doesn’t exactly follow many people not connected to him as a former player or previous connections with the program. He is following Andrej on more than 1 social media account. That to me is as good of a current sign as you could find.

Old? I saw Yogi Berra play left field for the Yanks at Comiskey Park. Bobby Tolan was a great player in his prime. 😊

You feel really good with where we're at because of our insiders.

People are expecting a decision and are wondering why there hasn't been a commitment, as predicted last week by our insiders.

Ultimately, both items are coming from the same sources. You choose to believe one lead, others believe both.

Now, our posters have run our insiders off the board because of stuff like this, so it's moot. Just have to wait, see and trust the staff.

I don't get people complaining about insiders sharing their knowledge and opinions. They certainly don't owe us any information. So if insiders are saying stop worrying he is committed then I choose to do exactly that. If he had 10 additional visits set up I would be more alarmed. In the meantime insiders please ignore the doubters and keep sharing what you can

I think/heard AS wants to be/study for an engineer. If this is true, that means UNC is toast
