Why not? He started on a Final 4 team. Who doesn't need a 6'6" guy who can knock down around 40% of his threes, rarely miss a defensive assignment, never turn it over, and rebound above his weight class?Jake Davis leaving would be the most baffling transfer decision since Miller left.
Doesn't seem like the type to get a major bag anywhere, Brad loves him, and he started on a final four team.
I get his role is likely reduced this coming year but I can't imagine anyone is offering him a role outside of bench spot up shooter.
Yup. Improving his NBA stock in in all likelihood not an issue. Getting some $ while he can, very well might the deal. He might even be happy to go from starting to coming off the bench. He is the type (no NBA career) that SHOULD be looking to see what other options there are. If someone is going to pay him substantially more than we are he needs to take it. No hard feelings. Get that bread while you can.
It's Davis' cash in time. He's a medium volume 41% 3pt shooter with a quick release. Rated #1 in the nation in offensive efficiency at 1.466ppp though on only 10.8% usage. And he's 4th in the nation in turnover percent and he has pretty solid offensive rebounding numbers for a shooting guard. There is absolutely no question he should be getting offers. Question is whether we'll be willing to match and if he wants to stay here, as I'd almost assume he will be offered more elsewhere.

NOTHING surprises me in today’s recruiting/portal world. Nothing.Jake Davis leaving would be the most baffling transfer decision since Miller left.

Remember Jacob Grandison? Guys may have more value than it may appear.
Actually, thinking about who might have a draw to Davis specifically, perish the thought but is Luke Goode the actual comp here?
And Ty is the new Austin Hutcherson. Love the kid, love his attitude and how he grinds, but he hasn’t played in 2 years and I think there is a bit of romancing happening by some on here about the skill level.Skyy Clark is the new Adam Miller.

Are we just pretending that all the benefit of that relationship flowed to Blackwell, and none to Wisconsin? We didn't offer.
Wisconsin did, developed Blackwell for three years, and now he would be jumping ship within the conference for a bunch of money. Terrible for the sport, but good for us.
Why does that 5 man not work? I agree about Davis. They could definitely play together.
The problems are:
1. Do they want to?
2. Blackwell-Coleman-Stojakovic-Mirkovic-Ivisic doesn't work as a 5 man lineup and Jake Davis swapping in doesn't fix it.
Which is why I want to think at the end of the day he'd be more valuable to us than to anyone else out in the wild.I'm not sure he's easily upgradeable. Hes a lethal shooter who also gives us size and rebounding. And would be in the system for year 3.
I'd really like Jake back.
100%. Everyone saying QC is already a starter are crazy. We have the entire portal to go through for heavy hitters and then if we don’t bring in a veteran then he has to beat out Jake Davis and Morillo,
No backup for Mirk and lose 3 point threat with Andrej and passingWhy does that 5 man not work? I agree about Davis.
Hopefully he shows out then so he won’t have toHe didn’t come here to sit …
Assuming the STL in your name means St. Louis, have you seen Coleman play? He’s pretty, pretty good!100%. Everyone saying QC is already a starter are crazy. It was morally unjustifiable and practically unsustainable, but it built a monster of fan interest. The dollars todays players are getting derive 100% to the very last penny to how much we the fans cared about their predecessors. Are we just pretending that all the benefit of that relationship flowed to Blackwell, and none to Wisconsin?
They identified a good player, and he stuck around for three years contributing a lot of basketball success. From what I understand, he could have made more by entering the transfer portal last offseason, but chose to return to Wisconsin. I think it worked out well for both parties. I don't know, maybe it is terrible for the sport. But I don't think the old paradigm, where players had as close to zero leverage as possible, while coaches, athletic directors, and others reaped the benefits of a billion-dollar industry, was good for the sport either.
Neither did Stojakovic, but he was a "bench player"He didn’t come here to sit …
Maybe he can go back to Mercer and play 35 minutes a game. I assume if he leaves he will go down a level and play full time.Jake Davis leaving would be the most baffling transfer decision since Miller left.

Andrej didn't come here to sit either, but that is the way it played out. Just sayin'He didn’t come here to sit …
Let’s get it over with already, RESTOCK!Tomorrow
Id reckon Nil only made it easier to give guys things there always existed all sorts of other ways and I imagine someone will try to come out with a different way soon...Speaking of LAD, are deferred payment in NIL a thing?
Nice balance of stats for Vaaks. Height 6’7”, 16 pts, 35% on 3s, 1.5 A-TO ratio. Lot to like here.![]()

Staff really likes him. Would also add a more defensive style guard if they go this route, but just another option.
There is a difference between sitting and starting as a freshman on a preseason top 5 team. He’s going to have earn it and it’s going to be very difficult. I’d EASILY wager he doesn’t start the entire season. He didn’t come here to sit …
