If you mean going to the hoop I think I get what you’re saying, but he has a quick first step, high IQ, great vision, and has unlimited range. Most of his baskets are off the dribble, but he’s making jump shots.I’ll probably catch some flak for this but Vaaks doesn’t look like he can beat anyone off the dribble. Slow footed with finesse.
So we won’t hear any Blackwell news for at least another week or so?Blackwell visiting UCLA this week … And that’s going to catch all the headlines I’m sure …
What SHOULD catch the headlines is who he’s meeting with tomorrow … And who’s going to attend …![]()

Would love to have some of those kids, but seems to be too much beaucracy and interference up there.Eddie is one of my all-time favorite Illini. That said, who in Chicago fits the bill? I would love to add some quickness because, as has been pointed out, quick guards have given us fits the last couple years.
Makes me think back to the days when 3 of our starters would from Chicagoland, another from Peoria, and maybe one out-of-state kid.
Now we're more likely to get a guy from Croatia as we are from the state of IL.
I genuinely have zero idea how anyone can think Vaaks is Ben's replacement, other than the simple correlation of replacing a white guy with a white guy.
Hope that means his Dad will be there tomorrowBlackwell visiting UCLA this week … And that’s going to catch all the headlines I’m sure …

And that is why we can't compete with Michigan. They are filled with athletes. That's freaking amazing. I'm not sure Mirkovic had one either.
Okay now I need to know who going to be attending the Blackwell meeting tomorrow?Blackwell visiting UCLA this week … And that’s going to catch all the headlines I’m sure …

Give it a week.Blackwell’s father said that he wanted him to stay in the B1G and the last time I checked Duke and Louisville were not in the Big Ten.
I think it’s going to go in favor because of what his own dad said last week.
Of course I am sure the family will be delaying to see if someone comes in with an outrageous package. Could be that will be the case but I feel good.
Can it be tomorrow already?!I don’t think it’s going to take that long … Definitely not May 4th like some are putting out there …
I don’t know if there will be a Duke visit at this point …
I think the UCLA visit is nothing but trying to gain some leverage in negotiations … That’s my read on it anyways …
Aren’t andrej and David in LA right now?Blackwell visiting UCLA this week … And that’s going to catch all the headlines I’m sure …

There are more schools involved with John Blackwell than just Illinois and Duke.
While some are amazing, insert TSJ, they only count for two points. That's freaking amazing. I'm not sure Mirkovic had one either.
Well a lot of us are also cubs fans. Eventually the next year we win it all might be right.Man I wish people would stop saying we're going to win the NC! Have none of you been Illini fans before? Do you not know how this works!? AAAAA.
% of 3pt makes assisted:Race had nothing to do with it. Look at their size and similar shot distribution.
Ben shot 38/36/79
Vaaks shot 40/35/83
Ben total FGA: 183
3PTA: 158
86% of his shots were 3 point attempts
Vaaks total FGA: 380
3PTA: 260
68% of his shots were 3 point attempts
And just for comparison;
Wagler total FGA: 454
3PTA: 219
48% of his shots were 3 point attempts
I stand by my comment that Vaaks is a much higher usage Ben. Similar size, tons of 3s, and not much else. He doesn’t rebound at all. He is purely a floor spacing shooter.
If you were being really optimistic you could make the case he’s this years version of Pryce Sandfort.
Guessing Andrej and Mirk will be there? I think they are both out in LABlackwell visiting UCLA this week … And that’s going to catch all the headlines I’m sure …

Ben was not a guard. Vaaks is. He facilitates offense. Ben didn’t.Race had nothing to do with it. Look at their size and similar shot distribution.
