A much swaggier in-your-face personality too from the looks of it, he's not an iceman like Wagler.

Besides being mop-haired freshman guards from Greater Missouri who can really shoot it, they don't seem to have much in common.
I'm pretty sure Kansans would not appreciate being called "Greater Missouri"ans. ;)

Be that as it may, I am ok with having the beloved become the home of college savant point guards and just stringing them together until we have all Illini NBA point guards. Just a little fantasy of mine. Carry on.

Can the cow play the 4, or is it just here to help boost our cottage cheese production?

Isn't this the type of thing that used to lead to getting a team mascot? Not particularly scary, but there aren't many things more "Illinois" than cows...
You’re right. But not as right as I thought you were.

May I suggest one thing it isn’t actually BIGGER in TEXAS.

He may have been coming here either way, but Lou was after Collins initially. I loved Richard Keene. I wore 24 my 6th grade year because I wanted to be him.

From the article:
For one thing, Collins spurned Illinois in 1992, when as the state's Mr. Basketball out of Glenbrook North he decided to become a Duke Blue Devil rather than a Fighting Illini. Illinois coach Lou Henson instead settled for the '92 Mr. Basketball runner-up Richard Keene of Collinsville, whose hair may actually have been the state's biggest prize.

Collins probably spurned Illinois because Illinois spurned his dad and let him go to Illinois State.

Wagler was a unicorn for how poised and collected he was out there. I still almost don't believe it.

Way better run-jump athletic, likely better defender, 2-3 inchees shorter.

Highly unlikely he has the court vision/feel for the game that Keaton had. Very few players, Illini or otherwise, have that level of "basketball IQ."
Plus when Keaton moved to on-ball the team seemed to become more relaxed and confident on offense. Kinda like the stories I've read of what happened when Ringo joined the Beatles LOL

I know…that’s crazy. Florida?

Wisconsin for example…makes sense it’s all hills and one big dairy of a state. We got glaciers they didn’t.
The cattle population in Florida is around 50% more than Illinois...(1.58 million to 1.02). They can't grow anything but grass there other than orange trees and strawberries so there is a ton of grazing land.
