100%. It's also how you win national championships.

March 6 is a long ways away$ article, tweet has (a little) value:
big time target
I just got back from C-U (University High Class of '76 reunion) and driving past the flying saucer. I co-sign on missing the fun (or frustration) of watching the team and players evolve and grow over a couple seasons. These days I have to settle for watching the team evolve and grow over 30+ games. Seeing how they accept their roles, or not, enter the transfer portal in search of PT, or not.... I have to say, thanks to "Body By Fletch", the players definitely grow up fast before your eyes. Kofi being my favorite case study.I've always been a "love to get to know the player over multiple season kind of guy". Never liked the Kentucky model. But I too must admit, I like having top High School players taking Illinois seriously.
Even though I selfishly would have loved seeing Keaton play with the Illini one more season. It feels good having multiple NBA level players on our team.
Wow. Class of '07 here. That's amazing you made the '76 reunion! Congrats on 50 years! Go Uni!I just got back from C-U (University High Class of '76 reunion) and driving past the flying saucer. 60% of the time we win these battles all the time.Illinois is the favorite to land Brady Pettigrew (60%).
If Coleman and / or Vaaks leave for the draft, that increases the odds considerably.

wasn't Scalabrini a USC grad? What's the Duke connection? On the topic of recruiting and the fact Duke seems to have their way with recruits, did anyone know these nuggets:
1) Adam Silver is a Duke grad
2) Grant Hill is the MD of Team USA's Selection Committee
3) Their GM is an ex Nike Executive
4) That Brian Scalabrini, when first discovering Cooper Flagg, made two calls. One to Team USA and another to Duke.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but might there be some horseplay that give Duke an unlevel advantage in CBB?

If having a good alumni network is "horseplay," then horseplay is universal problem that transcends college basketball. On the topic of recruiting and the fact Duke seems to have their way with recruits, did anyone know these nuggets:

True, lol. I suppose when I say horseplay, meaning there are powers that be that ensure Duke stays atop the CBB landscape. There are people working for Duke in the ivory towers of basketball that ensure their continued health. Clearly does not apply to UNC or UK or KU, they are unique that way.If having a good alumni network is "horseplay," then horseplay is universal problem that transcends college basketball.
If you listen to the most recent Sleepers podcast today on Pettigrew (the ep. talking Jake Davis), it's almost pretty hard to imagine him not picking Illinois at the current moment. Now things can change of course and these kids can be all over the place at times, but we have to feel very good about our chances.
We shall see.

That’s a nice trio of names in that post
If QC is a lottery pick next year….we are a FF team.
Fight me.

If QC is as good as advertised and the NBA drafts on potential, he could be a lottery pick. The question is how are teams going to slow us down? Do they stop the post or the 3? If Dre improves his 3 point shooting and Vaaks becomes a B1G quality shooter, QC might be a silent killer with his shooting ability and getting to the rim ability. This may be Brad’s best team yet. We have the ability to win it all but as we know, winning 6 games in three weeks of March/April isn’t easy. We play to our potential, we will have a great chance to play for a title. If QC is a lottery pick next year….we are a FF team.
