He may still be here. Probably staying at the Bielema’s and catching up.He was here Tuesday and Wednesday
It can be suspended, but I believe it is 10 business days or 2 weeks. He may still be here. Probably staying at the Bielema’s and catching up.
How long is the process for listing opening and going through process at UI?
I'm sure he's back home with his family. Normally a job has to be posted for a certain amount of time before they can hire....I don't think that will be the case here. Think Illinois is just trying to cross T's and dot I's as well as find the right time to announce both TP's firing and Lunney's hiring. He may still be here. Thx for all the insights on this. Exciting developments.I'm sure he's back home with his family. Sorry for the stupid question but are we excited about Lunney

In terms of objective quality and value it's a great hire, everything Petersen wasn't in terms of a resume as a non-P5 OC.Sorry for the stupid question but are we excited about Lunney
Pruman, you truly are a regional treasure
I would argue that Rod Smith wasn’t that bad and really wasn’t fired. Love was fired and BB wanted to bring in his guys.
Never felt that should reflect on any staff at the time of firing the HC, you maybe see a handful of staff stick around during regime changes.
Ask me a year from now. Hopeful yes, Optimistic yesSorry for the stupid question but are we excited about Lunney
I was actually expecting way better. The offense was mostly cold with some hot mixed in from time to time. Don't forget 63-0 and Wisconsin 2020 amongst many others.Rod Smith hire went way better than expected given what we had dealt with prior but it still reeked of Lovie's meddling.
If Lunney is the guy, Spann might have been the perfect qb for his system. With the transfer portal at full throttle, I hope they can get the ink dry on this quickly and grab some difference makers on the offensive side of the ball. Losing Spann still hurts and we could use at least 1 more on the OL. The QB situation seems like a weakness still, but I don’t know if they would make a move for the right guy still or not.
Perhaps Bielema is coming around to Saban's way of thinking about offense in the college game.In terms of objective quality and value it's a great hire, everything Petersen wasn't in terms of a resume as a non-P5 OC.
In terms of the UTSA offense being right for what Bielema is building I am mildly skeptical, but the fact that the two of them have worked together so extensively makes me feel a lot better that it will be the right fusion of what Lunney has done and what fits for Illinois and the B1G West.
Interesting thought. That would be quite a change for him. Personally, I think we need to walk before we run and that means getting the defense where it needs to be. We made huge strides there, obviously. I’m not sure the defense can carry us to wins yet while the offense transitions to that type of program. And we need to win fairly soon or the whole thing falls apart. I’m excited to see where the Lunney hire takes us!Perhaps Bielema is coming around to Saban's way of thinking about offense in the college game.
[Paraphrasing] "The offensive game has evolved. You've got to throw the ball 35-40 times in today's game of football."
i'm stoked for these developments and agree, deal needs to get done asap. would be nice to have a full offseason with an intact coaching staff to see what they can really do on the recruitment trail....With the transfer portal at full throttle, I hope they can get the ink dry on this quickly and grab some difference makers on the offensive side of the ball. Yeah but this time it's definitely gonna work
Because I can't help myself that's Schultz, Petrino, Beatty/Gonzales (should count as two really), Cubit pere, Cubit fils, McGee, R. Smith, Petersen, and coming soon, The Color Of Lunney.
