as far as my dad , I got a phone call tonight and the nurse at the nursing home brought up giving thought to moving dad into hospice care.....i posted on chat about it but wanted all my friends to know what's happening with dad ....keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.....
Sorry to hear that, @pruman91 ... Just went through that with my FIL and have a small inkling of how hard that decision is. 🧡💙 to your family from mine. Hang in there.

Coach Underwood just made a few comments on the raido: 19 straight days with not 1 off day and Mayer sick. Well Coach that's your job not to run them 19 straight days and the training staffs job to treat their bodies. Watching film and walk through and treatment are very important.
Yeah, he said it’s been 6 games inside of 18 days…and Indiana had 5 days rest.

I mean that sucks…but so what? This does not bode well for the mental toughness we need for the rest of this slog/in March.

Random observations:

Seems like every time the fans give the team an electric atmosphere, the team doesn't return the favor... in both sports.

Missed 13 lay ups. Make half our missed layups and half our missed free throws and we win.

I had a bad feeling early on this wouldn't end well for us. Any time we play a team that plays intense ball pressure denial defense, we get sped up and struggle to assert our will. This is a trend that's been going on for a few years.

I was in the stands yelling for us to help down on tjd but at the end of the day, it was their other 45 points that hurt us.

My conference championships are officially dead. Now, I just want to see us make the tournament and get hot and win 2 or 3 in a row.

Let's rest up and bounce back Tuesday.

Thoughts to you and your family, Pru. Games like tonight are inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.

Had we doubled TJD, and forced him to pass out more, I doubt they would have shot with like the 70 percent true shooting percentage they had tonight.

And THIS is why BU says TJD's 35 points didn't beat us. Who cares if he scores 35 and we win....and we win IF we don't miss the layups that are usually makes, and don't shoot HORRIBLE on FTs.

Indiana took it to us on defense. Pressured the ball like they always do and we didn't handle it well. Kept us pushed out and hurried up on offense. Didn't get very many good looks and when we did we missed most of them. Combine that with missing free throws and layups its not usually going to end well. Our defense wasn't as active as it had been lately and they were putting everything in. Not our night just got to move on.

Honestly, just finished watching the game (my kids surprisingly trump even the Illini) and 🤷‍♂️.
We looked tired, not disinterested or confused. Haven't caught up on the game thread but was obviously concerned for MM being ill or injured.
RJ continues to look like he's back on track, which will be huge.
TJD played maybe the best game I've seen him play in the last 10 years.
We missed so many bunnies and free throws where it looked like dead leg syndrome. Everything gets crazy upstairs because the legs have no oomph.
The guys will bounce back quickly. Keep the faith.

Yeah, there's no way their guards would have shot the same or better than TJD did tonight. It's baffling why we didn't double him, especially after halftime when we saw our initial plan didn't work.

Keep in mind the number of minutes that freshmen are getting on this team. They are not remotely at the level of fitness of guys like TJD are after four years in a high level S&C program. That's just biology kicking in. We will be fine.

Coaching…

I like that Woodson called an early time out when IU was down by only 4 ( if I recall correctly)

Most coaches wait until the next TV timeout so they don’t waste one.

Problem is that by then, they are down 15.

He righted the ship before it hit the rocks.

While I fully recognize we lost over 80% of our scoring and we have 2 new transfers and 4 Freshmen, I don’t remember an Illini team with such a spread between its floor and ceiling. I can only hope we get into the dance and don’t end up with two left feet!:shield:

This is it. Nothing we threw up went in, even home cooking foul shots bricked. TJD played out of his mind tonite and every bad bunny they put up went in.
Exactly. I was surprised we shot that well from 3.
TJ is an absolute warrior out there.

And we were on our home floor. Playing in front of your fans means a few points a game.

Our fans never got a real chance to impact the game. IU kept them quiet, and we didn't do enough to get them involved. Might as well have been a neutral court game.
