So you are saying he is transferring to LSU and switching to PG?From the espn interview
Cockburn was the No. 1 pick-and-roll finisher in college basketball last season, according to Synergy, leading the country with 78 slam dunks.
That is what made him first-team All-Big Ten and a second-team All-American. I think he can return to Illinois and get better at passing out of the post. Perhaps the right training program might help improve his lane agility scores. He is still a dominant low post scorer who excels in the ball screen and roll offense.
He said the feedback from NBA teams was that they want to see more of his perimeter skill, be it his jump shot or passing ability.
"NBA teams are going to see my midrange game next year and my playmaking," Cockburn said.
That is a cause for concern, in my opinion. It sort of parallels what Miller and his camp were saying.
Doe he seriously want to come to college to showcase his jump shot and passing skills?

The board was angry that day my friends.
So if Kofi is going to play PG, will Miller be showcasing his inside/back to the basket skills? So you are saying he is transferring to LSU and switching to PG?
(no need to be amazed. I make these intuitive leaps all the time)
Legit question: does the recruiting calendar even apply to the transfer portal?Just an observation. Kofi mentioned in the ESPN article, that he wants to make a quick decision and take some visits. How can this happen during a dead period?

It’s why a lot of people thought he was coming here. It worked out though, their still together. It’s the rare different colleges relationship working.Wasn't this an angle on Brunson? Obviously one that didn't work.
How is Liddell above 9 and 10?!My Illini basketball enemies list:
1. Bruce Pearl
2. NCAA & Big Ten
3. Calipari and the UK inbreds
4. The people who chased away 0440
5. Jordan Bohannon
6. Fran and the Iowa pig farmeds
7. Mark Smith and the Miznoz crew
8. EJ Liddell
9. Kelvin Sampson, Eric Gordon & the Hoosier inbreds
10. Cliff Alexander and his dad
Recency bias, Liddell has crushed us more times than Gordon ever did, he seems to have more of a vendetta against us than Gordon did. I can understand most others would have EG, KS, & IU higher on their list, but I am pretty indifferent to them as time has gone on. But those losses to OSU where Liddell has had career games just kills me inside. Glad we had the last laugh though last year. How is Liddell above 9 and 10?!

Cliff Alexander didn't amount to anything. He was an a-hole, but I don't have any regrets that he didn't play for us. Liddell is a legit player.
IDKWTIWhat about Eric Gordon?
I’ll never watch college basketball again if Kofi goes to O$U. That’s unforgivable.
That’s it. I’m leaving this board. How dare you.

There's footage out there of Kofi running dribble drills from the arc and shooting 3s and long jumpers during pre-draft workouts.Huge fan of Kofi --wish him well whatever happens. Really, really enjoyed watching him play for Illinois.
That out of the way, the ESPN article gives me pause. Lot to digest there. My musings...
Does he have a jumper? It's hard for me to imagine him shooting the ball at a decent clip. His strength was establishing post position and bullying players. He scored over double teams, even triple teams. Fearless player. I don't recall him passing out of the post much either, certainly not in a way that show-cased NBA decision-making. And as far as shooting goes, I don't recall him even taking many shots out to the FT line. His pick and roll success seems to be as much a function of Underwood focusing on those easy baskets, and having an elite passer to feed him. Will he have that at another program?
Basically, what I took from those comments was that he wants to work on things that are outside his current game. And that makes me wonder what will happen in his next year of college if he goes to a program that sells him on those opportunities. The obvious downside is that he puts himself in a situation where he needs a program to accommodate areas where he's not efficient.
Just musings. Wish him the best wherever he winds up.
That’s it. I’m leaving this board. How dare you.
