The Theo comparison is so there!! Joe Maddon was the Tampa Bay Rays' manager, and Lovie was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' head coach! :p The only thing left is for Cubit to end up on the White Sox' bench...

Just bought the I Fund 4 pack deal in section 201. My seats went from row 9 when I first checked to ending up in row 14 when I made the purchase an hour later. I'd say tickets are moving! Had season tickets for years with my father in law & I let them go after 2012 season. Just burned out I guess & had family commitments. There are a lot of us out here that just want to believe that there is a full on commitment to excellence in the sports programs. This is intriguing & the price on the 4 pack deal is a steal.

Wow, that is some serious animosity. Anyone recall how Lovie pi$$ed him off during his Bears' coaching years?

Lovie and the media were never what you'd call close. Lovie has always been pretty condescending to the media, not that he's unique in that among coaches.

I'm sure his kid applied and was denied and went to Iowa or Indiana instead .
Lovie probably grabbed the last donut right before he did one morning 10 years ago and now he can trash both at the same time .

Rosenbloom is a middle aged version of Bernstein

Not only do all the right people love this move, all the right people hate it.[/]

People on this board need to relax on the Chicago media. We deserve a lot of the negative press we've gotten the last several years. Whitman is actually showing us what a clown show the athletic department was.

Columnists like hot takes. It's interesting, stirs things up, and gets read. That's all.

Having said that, there are several NW alums that do have a purple bias (e.g., Greenstein). Rosenbloom is not one of those (he's USC).

Positive press coverage will come when we make the paper for winning big games. The Chicago media hopped on the bandwagon big time in 04-05.

Are there any current students on this board that will be going over to the Union at 11:45am to meet Lovie?

... If so, message me your Snapchat username so I can follow along. :thumb:

I don't have a snap, so that's a no go, but I'll summarize what I see. I have class at 12 down in RAL (Me 300 homework is due :( ) but I'll stay as long as I can

Just pulled the trigger on season tickets. Wow. I never thought I'd ever do this in my entire life.

Amen! The column I'd love to read would be the one Lovie (or any past Chicago head coach or manager) would write about Rosenbloom, if they wanted to waste their time.

"This, um, savior comes to Illinois with an NFL coaching record of 89-87, about as mediocre as it gets. After coaching the Bears to the Super Bowl in 2006, Smith has gone 60-68, which is worse, but when you’re coming off Tim Beckman’s clown act, I guess mediocrity and condescension is considered a step up in Champaign. Same goes for availability, apparently. Smith lands in Champaign after being fired from his last two NFL jobs."

"This, um, savior comes to USC with an NFL coaching record of 33-31, about as mediocre as it gets. After coaching the Patriots to an AFC East title in 1997, Carroll has gone 17-15, which is worse, but when you’re coming off Paul Hackett’s clown act, I guess mediocrity and condescension is considered a step up in University Park. Same goes for availability, apparently. Carroll lands in Los Angeles after being fired from his last two NFL jobs."

"This, um, savior comes to UCLA with an NFL coaching record of 31-33, about as mediocre as it gets. After coaching the Falcons to an NFC West title in 2004, Mora has gone 20-28, which is worse, but when you’re coming off Rick Neuheisel’s clown act, I guess mediocrity and condescension is considered a step up in Westwood. Same goes for availability, apparently. Mora lands in Los Angeles after being fired from his last two NFL jobs."

Even Dan Bernstein seems cautiously optimistic about the hire. This is just a bunch of trash.
