Whose mind would be blown to find out we were + 4 in Belo’s 26 minutes.I can't believe people are saying you can't blame BU or Belo for that loss. There are others who deserve some credit too, heck almost anyone that played had a hand in that loss. The stubbornness to take Belo off the ball late was the last nail in the coffin.
As a coach you have to realize when a guy doesn't haven't in a given game and that was about as obvious as it gets. If Belo can't play off ball more then you have to replace him. Maybe you still lose but putting Belo in that situation is a recipe for success.
New tactic is $100,000 fines from their NIL account. Total of said fines to be split among all Loyalty posters in this thread. It was a little hyperbolic....but Curbelo needs a serious dose of discipline after this game. If it's not running, or sitting, then I'm not sure what coaches do these days.
I think Curbelos will got in his way tonight...thinking he will correct it soon!Ha!!! Participation medals require participation.... You may have misinterpreted my comment but I was trying to allude to more in game adjustments than being happy to have practice motivation after a completely embarrassing loss regardless if you have Kofi or not. Definitely didn't appear to be a top 10 team that played tonight.

Mine was.
Underwood might have been wise to get him out at some point over the last 7:43, but we didn’t look great when he wasn’t on the floor
Would Kofi have made one point worth of difference? Probably. We didn’t have our all-american lol.
Really didn't see many plays being utilized.Lack of set plays is alarming. We havent run a double screen to get Frazier an open look *checks notes* EVER?
It should have been an alley oop. That’s exactly what was open. I can tell you what wasn’t open. Any shot Curbelo was taking. If it’s not alley oop, Payne isn’t catching it.
Quoted for truth.First true road game in forever on short rest against a team that loves to press. Not surprised we turned it over so much. Feel like we could have done more press breaking, but that stuff is tough to install with I’m guessing limited to no practice time.
Don’t like to blame the refs but 2 brutal no calls at the end too. Felt like Trent got hip checked and the ball got kicked on their steal, and then I though Belo took a pretty good bump on our last possession. Could excuse the no calls more if they hadn’t lived at the free throw line the last 5 minutes.
All that said, Belo was brutal and cost us the game. All we had to do was not turn it over and not foul and we did both.
We should have won this game but the loss won’t sink us. And that Marquette team has a ton of HK transfers and they might be decent this year.
Good news is we have a week to practice and Kofi back for our next game. Guessing Brad will have Belo’s ear for the next week. Let’s get better and maybe as important, tougher.
I mean, Maradona would have been proud of that one. Missed call.I saw this complaint a few times on the board…. Just to set the record straight. A kicked ball violation only applies when it is INTENTIONAL.
Just stop. You're acting like the games without Ayo last year were outliers instead of this game.Would Kofi have made one point worth of difference? Probably.
But we made up for his absence really well, totally dominant on the glass and decent around the rim. It's those couple of BBV post ups becoming Kofi post ups that probably swing things.
But Marquette is terrible.
We're a double digit loss team, pretty much no chance of avoiding it.
He surely made to many turnovers and needs to care for the ball more. With that being said we had a 1 point lead and the ball with 30 seconds left in Trents hands. He got picked too.Terrible shot, over dribble, turnover, drive into double team, hero ball... Curbelo lost this game 100%. If you can't make the fundamental play then who cares about the flashy play...
To me. That’s not an easy call because Belo is the type of player who can make 5 huge mistakes in a row and then make 5 amazing plays to win it for you. Tonight he just got 10 mistakes in a row instead. There's a point at which a guy has just lost his head and can't be on the floor and Belo crossed it about ten times.
Who knows how the game plays out with no PG, but at least one of our key guys doesn't suffer through what just happened to him.
We didn’t have our all-american lol.
For the last ten minutes?? Possibly.Honest question: Do we win this game without Curbelo on the floor tonight?
"Probably"?Would Kofi have made one point worth of difference? Probably.

We can't win a game against a good team with options of an out-of-control tilting Belo or a non-PG running the show. Easy pickings.
