Why did Underwood take all his height out of the game when we have been getting destroyed in the paint with a smaller lineup? It was obvious! You take Omar and Coleman out at the same time and Bosmans on the bench too!? At a loss for words over this coaching tonight... I-L-L

Before this thread really gets going......the fact we lost is bad. We lost because we scored less than MD. That does not necessarily mean Monte was the reason. He is not out there to score. Unfortunately, our scorers did not win this for us. THAT DOES NOT MAKE MONTE A GARBAGE PLAYER

Brad’s stubbornness was on display for this one. A zone or doubling Scott would have made sense, but we kept letting them leverage their length and mask their poor shooting by keeping our relatively short lineup in man to man.

Those lack of adjustments have nothing to do with Kofi. It was baffling.

This team has a choice: act snakebit and pack it in, or get nasty and get after it. I didn’t see the fight tonight.

And before I try and erase this game from my memory, I’m getting pretty tired of Hawkins and Williams throwing up half-hearted ball fakes and dribbling to nowhere in particular. Either put it up or keep swinging the ball.

Probably won’t be detrimental to our NCAA seed since it’s on the road and they’ll consider the injury, but … could REALLY bite us in our quest for a Big Ten title. This is a game we should have won even without Kofi. Praying for his return on Tuesday.
To win the big ten you need to take care of business at home, and you need to beat the middle of the pack/ bottom feeder teams. We did neither the past two games.

No Kofi means it's pretty pointless to take anything away from this one. But it doesn't explain Underwood's decision to just let Scott kill us all night. No idea what he was thinking.

I think the takeaway is we better find a good replacement big man next year, because with all due respect to both of them, a team led by OP and BBV in the post isn’t making the tourney

Our on ball defense has been pretty bad for the last couple years. Having a decent rim protector makes it hurt less.

The epitome of this was Scott blowing right by Grandison at the end and having zero help in the paint.

We go as Kofi Kofi goes. Belo really gave not much tonight at all and DMW missed every open 3. We have no answer for Scott, so really it made no difference. Let’s just pray Kofi does not have an extended absence like Belo did, if so we are at best a middle of the pack team. We can loose this game and recover but our margin of error just took a hit.

After the Kofi news, I had a feeling we'd drop this one even against a bottom conference team like Maryland.

This is a "meh and move on" loss for me. I'm not even in the least bit upset honestly.
You should be the least bit upset that we will not be in first place now and will be fortunate to not drop 3 in a row considering the next game is MSU. This is a bad loss for our season, no matter what.

We just have nothing in the bag when the threes aren’t falling to get us going. Some days you can’t shoot your way out if it.

Two positive takeaways, actually 3, BBV is awesome and Trent is incredible, Plummer can stroke it. One bad, this team as a whole can’t play defense to save their lives. Taking a zone would have helped but that will never ever happen while Underwood is the head coach
