The fact that Underwood does not even have a zone installed for games like this is inexcusable. We win this game if we play zone when it’s clear they can’t produce points outside of the paint. There are more than a handful of losses in the BU era that we have a very good chance of winning if we had a halfway decent zone. It was a live by the 3, die by the 3 kind of night. They just could not get anything going in the paint on offense, and just got killed in there on defense. Small picture it's just a blip - but in the bigger scheme of things, they really need to figure out how to handle Kofi not being on the floor.
I don’t really understand all the zone talk. When was the last time the Illini played a zone? But you expect them to insert one into their repertoire in 24 hours after learning their starting center is out?

Last year after the back to back losses to Maryland and OSU, I thought our title hopes had been crushed. I was wrong. Hoping they beat the odds again.

Curbelo really needs to be able to hit the three, the midrange jump shot just isn’t working. It’s a bad shot in college unless you shoot it like Derozan.
