Why did damonte get so much tick, just a poor performance all the way around. Not even useful on defense
only person rebounding worth a damn (8, which doubled up anyone else on our team), lead team in assists (7 of our 16), etc.
He's gonna look bad sometimes on D when hes continuosuly guarding players he wouldnt have to guard if we had length on the wings that was ready to play (hoping melendez is htis next year).

We shouldve gone zone given how scott was having his wya

The fact that Underwood does not even have a zone installed for games like this is inexcusable. We win this game if we play zone when it’s clear they can’t produce points outside of the paint. There are more than a handful of losses in the BU era that we have a very good chance of winning if we had a halfway decent zone. I much prefer man defense but not even having a zone in case of emergency is just…

Not a surprising loss. Most teams go through bad stretches in league play. We just might be embarking on ours. On a side note, I think a game or two off for Kofi might help him and us down the stretch. A little rest for the big man never hurts. But no more than two games please.

It was a live by the 3, die by the 3 kind of night. They just could not get anything going in the paint on offense, and just got killed in there on defense. Small picture it's just a blip - but in the bigger scheme of things, they really need to figure out how to handle Kofi not being on the floor.

I wish we had worked the ball inside more. BBV and Omar aren't terrible offensively. Needed to get their big men in foul trouble.

Last year after the back to back losses to Maryland and OSU, I thought our title hopes had been crushed. I was wrong. Hoping they beat the odds again.

Also, I'm developing a hatred for Maryland.

I don’t really understand all the zone talk. When was the last time the Illini played a zone? But you expect them to insert one into their repertoire in 24 hours after learning their starting center is out?

I think the broader point is it should be in the repertoire. Wouldnt have hurt too much to try after being completely unable to stop scott for a while. some hindsight bias here, sure tho
