Is there any indication that any of this is due to the two teams you mentioned screwing up? I agree that if that is the cause, they should be held to account for it, but I haven't seen anything indicating that is the case. At least with Michigan basketball, this appears to be the case of an athlete in a different program bringing one of the more virulent strains to the department so they shut down out of an abundance of caution. I know at least some of the games OSU didn't play were due to the other team (though not all).

I don't say this very often, but I love what the NFL did. The Broncos had to play a game without any active QBs because their QB group had flouted protocols and ended up exposed and in quarantine. That's on them.
As someone who is more or less forced to follow the Broncos, I can say that this wasn't really much of a punishment. The team has basically been playing without a QB for years.

Seriously? A tab bit offensive.

Welp, sorry you feel that way and in another post I made it clear I wasn't trying to offend anyone. Lol, do you think I think less of my own dad because I like the BTT more than he does?? If they added that big of a change to the Big Ten season in 5-10 years, I imagine my kids will like it a lot more than I do. It is what it is, and nobody should be getting offended about something that small. No offense. :geek: The main point of the post was to say that I only really appreciated the atmosphere/setup once I was able to attend.

With that said, my ideal setup would be to play every other team (possibly not feasible with 14 B1G teams, unfortunately) AND do the BTT, with expectations of what is a "successful season" (e.g., 25 wins or something) being drastically changed due to reducing the number of non-conference tune-up games. Maybe keep something like this year with a few warmup games, the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, a neutral site game (preferably at the UC) and Braggin' Rights.

Back on topic, I really hope this game is played. Not only do I agree with the claims that it is kind of BS for Michigan to use this reasoning after we all expected Penn State to just hit the ground running again, I really think we can take them. We are starting to play the kind of tough basketball that allowed us to grind out wins at Wisconsin, Michigan and Penn State last year, earning our Road Warriors™ identity. :) Michigan might indeed be rusty, but it would still be the best win of our season. I'm hungry for that opportunity!!

Anybody with a first name of "Fess" is a hero in my book: Fess Parker, aka Davy Crockett, for instance. Does this age me even more better? Great (but you know you're old when you mention your actual age).

P.S. I'm a bit less than 100 years old

And what is Fess H doing now? Hope he's doing well.
I still remember the tourney game against Indiana, and Fess posting up all game and scoring after having a pretty underwhelming season, and the po'd look on Bobby Knight's face.

Whoever made this is clearly not familiar with Northwestern and its fanbase.
Happy to accommodate:

Michigan announced the times for their "next three games". The first is with Wisconsin on the 14th. No mention of the Illini

That article is bizarre. It mentions Wisc, Rut, OSU, and IU as the only games in February, apparently disregarding the Illinois game. But it also says only three games were postponed due to the shutdown (which is actually four (PSU, IU, NU, and MSU) or five if you also include us).

I'm calling it now. Michigan won't be making up this game. They will claim they should make up the games in roughly the order they were postponed, and never get to this one.

Unfortunately I agree with this. I hope we run the table and Michigan loses once so that it puts enormous pressure to get the game played since that game would determine the title (if I have my math right).

I think if we lose one or two coming up, the B10 will be okay handing Mich the title with no near challengers

This is my big gripe too. If a team can't play a game because they didn't follow protocol and someone tested positive it should be a forfeit, not a reschedule.
What happens if they did follow protocol and still got it?? Haven't heard a thing that nobody wasn't following protocol. Protocol, is by no means error proof in a no-bubble environment for college kids

If it were an away game for Michigan I could understand this...but to give up a home contest, even if its against a team barking at your heels in the standings, might not be a good decision

I think fans are a lot more concerned with regular season and conference tournament championships than the players are. Yes they both should be goals every year but ultimately what's important is the final four and beyond. Especially this year.

Another idea is to play the games after regular season/ conference tourney (if there is one) and ncaa tourney.
If no conf tourney...make up week.
Teams like MSU, PSU, Neb, NW can make up games during off nights of NCAA tourney weeks. Guessing there is no NIT, tv slots will be open.
Also, is there a deadline on when games are played? NCAA teams can play after the tourney. Maybe give a week off in between resuming games. Would be interesting for top teams to battle it out at the end. Also a way to finish on positive note.

It's definitely going to give the sports media something to latch onto. Not to mention give me something to continue hating scUM for.

Do we still have to get to 25 games?
